The Blue Homeland Doctrine expresses Turkey’s legitimate maritime rights within the framework of international law.

Efforts to protect these rights make an important contribution to global and regional peace in terms of both implementing international law and the possibility of regional countries benefiting from all resources equitably. Contrary to allegations made by the detractors of the Blue Homeland Doctrine, it seems that not only Turkey but also all countries in the region can reap immense gains from the full implementation of this doctrine. Moreover, this doctrine is far from promoting an “expansionist” policy, especially considering how the Blue Homeland Doctrine anticipates the creation of cooperation mechanisms with riparian states in the Eastern Mediterranean. The implementation of this doctrine will greatly contribute to the development of international trade and the more efficient use of energy resources. Regarding those countries whose attitude is still inspired by “maritime piracy,” one should take into account the fact that Turkey possesses a superior naval fleet to protect its rights and up-to-date military-industrial infrastructure.

What that is,is Turkey having no right to something, yet they make a claim and then use carrot and stick to get what they want. Specifically: I claim this and if you don't like it,we go to war or we can share the natural resources. That's what the "cooperation mechanisms with riparian states" means.

It's a classic Turkish foreign policy tactic. Demand a lot out of the blue, then force the other party to negotiate so you can take half of it.

And the problem is,we've discussed it many times to exhaustion in the old forum and I'm the only greek left here now...and it's tiring going back and forth posting on the matter.

To help Pakistanis understand how that looks...it's as if India claimed all this and upheld a rhetoric of "we're peaceful,we don't want war,we only want what is rightfully ours!" and then presented a map like this:

I'm not really sure what the Greek calculation is, its like they are looking for a confrontation. They can draw all the maps as whatever but they need to understand any unilateral action will bring a counter reaction. Turkey does not want a confrontation, but it will not allow Fait Accompli. Turkey is not afraid of going up the escalation ladder if the Greeks for whatever reason feel they can outmuscle Turkey with the backing of Israel or the EU.
