He's a broken record. Everyone apart from the Pakistan Foreign Office is absolutely pathetic at lobbying the UN on Kashmir. Its a 70 year+ dispute yet its never been a priority at the UN. This is despite the fact we led a legendary campaign with the Kashmiris to win the UNHRC complaint ( see
www.kashmirhumanrights.com). Brave Kashmiris signed the petition despite the huge risks to themselves.
After our win, India huffed and puffed and refused to listen to the recommendations. Khan's team at the time failed further in taking them up. Arnab Goswami blamed ISI on Republic TV failing to appreciate that I'd spent literally 100s of hours going through the human rights abuses data alone. While everyone was either having love affairs or getting married, an 18 year old from Jammu Kashmir was transferring human rights evidence while standing outside government buildings using their internet. We finally got the evidence to the UNHRC without Indian intelligence knowing who was doing it.
At the time, I was a bit miffed ISI was blamed since there was no handsome spy in sight. There's never been a handsome spy around doing anything for me. Too busy helping Carin with her shopping bags probably.
Pakistanis have the deluded idea that I might be a RAW spy so I've never had any help on this subject. The paranoia spilled over here once and probably continues to this day in certain sections of Pakistan's establishment. The net result is Pakistan thinks I might be RAW and India thinks I'm ISI. Both countries failed to appreciate that some of us don't need to be part of any intelligence fraternity to win epic battles. Perhaps India was humiliated by the fact ordinary people are able to win against them. Kashmiris are highly intelligent and actually so am I. We made a formidable team partly due to our affection for each other and our belief that the truth conquers all. And it certainly did once.
We did it on our own. That includes the drafting of the formal complaint, gathering the huge levels of data and running a signature campaign to the UNHRC.
Leaders all over the world have been ineffective on lobbying the UN on resolving the longest running dispute on their agenda.
The 2018 report by the UNHRC was shelved. There was no mention of it again probably cause India arranged it that way and Pakistan was too be squabbling amongst themselves. The only useful presentations of late have been from the Pakistan Foreign Office but even then there's been no action on the recommendations.
Kashmiris continue to have their basic rights violated. The only difference now is that they are completely silenced as am I. All my social networking accounts are shadowbanned. India's spent a lot of resources issuing assassination threats against me via their nefarious associates. Whatever is done does not remove the fact that the Kashmiris and I won against India in an epic battle and despite so many obstacles.
I very much hope one day the Kashmiris understand the value of team work and the importance of the report in moving the cause of Kashmiris forward. It was always an honour and privilege to be with the Kashmiris. Unlike the Pakistanis who are a suspicious broadly ungrateful lot, Kashmiris are genuinely loving and kind. I have never forgotten their kindness and their welcoming nature. I hope Allah shows them the path forward.
