BREAKING NEWS: Erdogan raises Kashmir issue at UNGA; calls for resolution as per UN resolutions

It's their standard whataboutism. Someone fell off a roof in Bombay so massacres were permissible in J&K.
Yes essentially I was debating with a thick skulled moron.

What does massacres in West Pakistan have to do with the Kashmir dispute?

Plebiscite is the only solution to the matter. Even Sir Owen Dixon said so and blamed India for not implementing it.

Sigh, these Indians never fail to amuse me.

Anyone see Jaishwanker runaway from a press conference at the UN yesterday!!!???

Indian diplomacy in retreat both theoretically and literally.

indians themselves will make Kashmiris understand why freedom is necessary and why Kashmiris should dissociate from anything indian. No one can help Kashmiris unless they themselves start helping others to help them.

I advise Pakistani Nationalists to also read UNSC resolution 80 and 98. To get acquainted with the demilitarization process of the Kashmir region.
Because Indians keep barking "Pakistan needs to remove military troops first argument." which has been debunked many times.

UN Security Council Resolutions 80 (1950) and 98 (1952) are important because both deal explicitly with the demilitarization of Jammu and Kashmir, but Resolution 98 becomes much more specific about the forces that would remain after demilitarization.

Resolution 80 — 14 March 1950

Resolution 80 reaffirmed the earlier UNCIP resolutions of 13 August 1948 and 5 January 1949, describing their framework as involving a ceasefire, demilitarization of Jammu and Kashmir, and determination of the State's future according to the freely expressed will of its people through a free and impartial plebiscite.

So Resolution 80 is significant because the Security Council addressed the demilitarization obligation to both governments, rather than simply saying Pakistan alone must withdraw before anything was required of India.

It based that demilitarization on the principles contained in General McNaughton's proposals (or mutually agreed modifications). It also created the position of UN Representative for India and Pakistan, who would assist with and supervise implementation of demilitarization.

Resolution 98 — 23 December 1952

Resolution 98 continued this approach. Its official UN description is specifically:

“negotiations to reach an agreement on a plan of demilitarization of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.”

The Security Council urged India and Pakistan to negotiate simultaneously under the UN Representative to determine the number of forces that would remain on each side of the ceasefire line at the end of demilitarization.

The UN proposal discussed in connection with Resolution 98 contemplated approximately:

Side of ceasefire lineForces after demilitarization
Pakistan side3,000–6,000
Indian side12,000–18,000
The UN's subsequent historical account describes the proposed figures as 5,000–6,000 on the Pakistan side and 12,000–18,000 on the Indian side in the final proposal considered by the Council.

The important point is that Resolution 98 was not proposing complete removal of every armed person from Kashmir. It was attempting to establish an agreed limited number of forces remaining on each side after demilitarization, as part of implementing the earlier UN framework.

What Resolutions 80 and 98 establish

Taken together, they make an important clarification to the earlier Kashmir resolutions:

Resolution 80: India and Pakistan were called upon to prepare and execute a UN-supervised demilitarization programme.

Resolution 98: the Security Council sought agreement on the specific number of forces remaining on both the Indian and Pakistani sides after demilitarization, rather than requiring one side to become completely troop-free while the other retained unrestricted forces.

And the broader objective remained connected to the earlier UN framework for determining Jammu and Kashmir's future through a free and impartial plebiscite.

Then why does India have a frenzy and start foaming at the mouth when We say let the people decide who they want the land of Kashmir to be a part of? If you care so much let the people decide.
Indians pretending to not care living and getting banned off this thread constantly
If the issue is truly about the rights of Kashmiri people, then any referendum should directly include three options: India, Pakistan, or an independent entirely jammu and Kashmir including pak Kashmir and gilgit baltistan. Their political future should not be decided only by India and Pakistan.

But that is the core problem: this has never been only about the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. India and Pakistan have historically approached the issue primarily through their own territorial and national interests, and neither has accepted an independence option.

So after Nearly 80 years have already passed. Even politicians from the both sides can this issue can dragged for another 100 years, the situation most likely remain the same. The practical approach now should be to accept the present reality, focus on peace and development, and improve the lives of the people while continuing peaceful dialogue.

Yup, look at all of them (Well some prbably multi ID), "We don't care" in deed.

Their own MEA sending a crying note to OIC, and now their FM running away from questions. 2-3 years ago people were falling over themselves and praising them and they were winning the war of narratives.

Thinsg have changed so much I geniunely think they may be in a state of shock, they cannot believe no one buys their BS anymore. 3 things did this I think

1) Modi'd massive mistake in embracing Netenyahu
2) May 7th and the destruction of the myth of Indian military capability
3) Erosion of Indian soft power globally due to mass illegal immigration and export of BJP ideology

All of these things now coming home to roost, even the default setting of "Econnomic supa powa and 5% growth saar!" is not having the effect anymore. Essentially major countries see India as a big market they need to keep happy. That is it

But but - here it was never about rights of people of Kashmir, Pakistan and India will never accept or allow the third option.. Since they don't care about the Kashmiri people, snd support what they really want.

Wrong, Independent Kashmir is not part of the partition plan.

The partition plan says either Pakistan or India according to the plebiscite.

Question is who the hell Pakistan and India to decide future of Kashmiri people?

Isn't Kashmiri people have rights to choose their own future - if any resolution does not provide that option..

Than it most useless resolution for people of kashmir. . I stopped here don't want to post now.. Enjoy this useless thread, since I know that nothing going to change

Then hold a plebiscite in Kashmir if the Kashmiri people want Pakistan or India.

The Kingdoms were not given the option for independence at partition time.

Stop the la la la. If you care about the people - let the people decide. If the Kashmiris decide to go with India - so let it be - indians like you are scared sh1tless about the people deciding different. Accept it and stop doing starfish jumps on here pretending to show crocodile care

The Indian member is being silly.

Otherwise Hyderabad would have been independent during partition.

They never have any logical arguments, its hard to when you are in the wrong, all they can do is try and shine the turd that is their image and pretend everything is OK

No one considers them a player anymore, even France have given them 2 fingers on Rafales regarding source codes, as t hey have plenty of buyers and focusing on 6th gen, no one is interested in a 4 year long negotiation with Indians anymore, world has moved on. US seems to have dumped them, France and Russia want to fleece them. GCC no longer trust them, neither does Iran. Bangladesh charting it's own course.

Sorry boss — if you check my previous discussions on Kashmir, I have always said that any resolution is meaningless

I always said multiple times in past, kashmir belongs to only Kashmiri, India and Pakistan are outsiders.

It is like two men fighting over a woman, both saying, “You have to choose me or him,” while neither bothers to ask the woman if she does not want to marry either of them at all.

Forcing them to choose between “me or him” has already taken away the very essence of what the Kashmiri people want. The focus should be on their voice, their choices, and their future—not simply on making them choose between two sides.

That is how I see the Kashmir issue. India and Pakistan keep arguing over the territory, while the most important question is: what do the Kashmiri people themselves want?

Anyway nothing going to change, so better not waste time on it. Rest my case here. Good day.
