Did you just compare the Viper to...the MiG-29 ...?
What exactly is similar between the two? That they both fly ...
The F-16 may be a 70's design by General Dynamics, but it has evolved drastically over that decades thanks to its Block-updates and moving on to Lockheed Martin.
Q1. Do you have any idea that different types of (approved) armaments for the F-16 ... ?
![]()
Q2. Have you seen the recent upgrades to the Cockpit/Avionics ?
![]()
Now lets talk about the MiG-29 ...
Q3. When was the last time the Mikoyan design bureau actually did something useful since the demise of the Soviet Union?
The MiG-29 had various (variants) for different Air Forces/Navy, but pretty much stayed that same jet.
Heard that they "upgraded" it & gave it the label of MiG-35 - which first flew like 8 Years ago. How's that coming along.
Nations are still brand new Vipers and/or upgrading their previous jets to newer Blocks, which may mean to add CFT's, EW from L3 Harris, GCAS (to prevent Jets from Crashing if Pilots G-Locs.
THe only Upgrades the MiG-29's can do...presently is get a new Paintjob.
& i'll just avoid the combat success the Viper has had since itro back in the late-70's. I almost feel sorry asking you what the MiG-29's have accomplished.
The cockpit seems like a downgrade compared to J-10C. It's more of a 90s cockpit than a modern cockpit.
1. The Vipers were designed in the early-to-mid 70's & the J-10's in the late 90's. You can't play with space. You gotta work with what you have.
2. Its a Cockpit. The Pilot doesn't need to watch Netflix or make coffee in a Nespresso machine.
Look, the Pakistan Air Force has the J-10c & it seems like a great jet, no doubt. But its still unproven in the field as far as Air-2-Air is concerened. But, then again so is the Rafale.
I'm sorry, but dropping bombs on a Building/Truck from 35,000 feet isn't something that is gonna impress me.
The J-10c has the PL-15 which (on paper) beats the Aim-120 (AMRAAM) in BVR, but I want to see how...
a. the J-10c stacks up against the modern Vipers with AESA.
b. the J-10c stacks up against the Rafales.
Again..., i'm not interested in how cool the Avionics are in either jet.
The Pakistan Air Force got its first Air-2-Air kill from the Viper in the early 80's against the Soviets & the last one(s) in 2019. That's 40 Years of success.
I sure hope the J-10c gives us the same success.
Still the most widely used fighter jet in the world dummySend to the museum?
IRST is not a magic wand, IRST can only give you detection and tracking capabilities not firing solution or lock on capabilities to the enemy jets and IRST is just one part missing on f16v other avionics/electronics/EW/AESA are way way more advanced than old F-16E in fact F-16V is using lots of technologies from F35
J10 and typhoon/ rafale are 4.5th gen jets whereas by design F-16 is 4th gen jetF-16 design is older than J-10 / Typhoon / Rafale. It's like comparing Me 109 with P-51. You can upgrade it, but its performance is limited by its design.

Yes by avionics/electronics/AESA/EW F-16V is a 4.5th gen jet and still one of most maneuverable/agile non-TVC fighter jet out thereF-16V is a 4.5 generation jet.

Desert Falcon was specifically developed for the UAEAF using their funding for R&D. The irst ifts, falcon edge ew/ecm suite, ldp, apg80 AB aesa radar, and exclusive avionics around a powerful mission computer were added. Back in the day, athe mission computer could execute 12 million instructions per second. F16 V is the current production unit and can be used as an upgrade for late model c and d aircraft. It's more of an upgrade package.
Fine lol it's one of the best. 4.5th gen jet in the world in every sense lolCorrect. You can think of F-16V as Me 109K. It is a fine plane.
