RIYADH: The coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally-recognized government intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired by Houthi forces toward Riyadh, its spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said on Saturday.

Al-Maliki said the interception was carried out in accordance with the rules of engagement, and the missile was destroyed in the air without causing damage.

He added that coalition forces were monitoring developments and taking the necessary measures to protect civilians and vital facilities, and to counter threats to the Kingdom’s security.

Al-Maliki said the Houthis’ continued attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Riyadh, a city of more than eight million residents, reflected the militia’s intransigence and deliberate targeting of civilian areas.

He added that air defenses had thwarted Houthi attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Bish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.

Al-Maliki said the coalition leadership had the right to take any measures it deemed appropriate, in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules, to deter further Houthi attacks.

Your question makes no sense and it feels like you are just arguing for the sake of it. There is a reason they are always referred to as the Iran backed Houthis.

What is the reason that compels Iran to have proxies encircling Saudi Arabia? Iran just need a more fairer price for Houthis, they have no issues in abandoning them and don't risk internal division for doing that either.

If you have seen an any Asian Rhino, then you have seen a unicorn. Unless you are a literalist who cannot separate fact from fiction.

You have become so mentally constipated that you are now attempting to draw a unicorn out of a rhinoceros, just because the comparison was offered to sjhow, what happens when a man begins to manufacturing elaborate stories, where a little thought would have sufficed.

thats funny actually, keep going!

The myth of the unicorn came from the first encounters with the Asian Rhino.

It's not the point of my initial argument in the end.

Iran is backing Houthis in the end and it's part of their strategy which clashes with Pakistan's interest.

We cannot make Iranian policies. If they have chosen such a path, they'd have factored in Pakistan in their decision making.

That is up to Iran to decide. Fact is, their interests is converging with ours and will affect us.

And the interests do not converge in some linear or one dimensional form.
Interests can overlap like constantly moving venn diagrams - the long those interests coincide the great resilience they have to break away and also attract other alignments even if it is at compromise.

From a pure historical perspective, Saudi Arabia has a LOT MORE PULL compared to Iran on the alignment of interests with a country that until 5-6 years ago was letting the Indians put a listening station on Pakistani coasts along with freely allowing espionage and even terror financing activities by India from its soil.

Saudi Arabia may have greater leverage on Pakistan as compared to Iranb(even more so after Mecca pact), but I won't discount the geopolitical reality that Pakistan faces.

Pakistan would definitely not want another adversary on its border and will rather turn a blind eye to Chabahar port operations rather than escalate tensions with Iran.

I kept this explanation brief to avoid derailing this thread.

Let's suppose Iran becomes our enemy , wtf can Iran do on our borders ?.... entire region is hostile to Iran , why would Iran want a hostile Pakistan...knock it off with scaremongering as if Iran is some supernatural power who will screw everyone who goes against her commandments...Iran is struggling for her survival , she is in no position to dictate policies of other countries.

Two corrections:
1)You do not even need to bring an invasion of Pakistan to see them crumble.
2) The Iranian regime is in crisis, not the country of Iran itself.

If you think this is just fearmongering, you're free to ignore it. Nobody is asking you to blindly accept this, and no one is claiming it as absolute truth. I am giving it to you in a logical sense so process it however you like.
