(CDF / COAS)'s Desk

There is nearly a 2 TRILLION rupees corruption that a couple of political parties, many bureaucrats and many officers do every year. This money coming into our economy can help the system a lot. So the law of the land will be implemented.
First ask him would he return billions of dollars looted by ZARDARI AND NAWAZ AND CO from Swiss Bank accounts and other western financial institutions?

I think to purge PMLN and PPP MPAs and MNAs so he can keep them in line.
It maybe this, but if the greatest selling point of IK’s political career was fighting corruption, then the FM is showing the public that he can do the same, if not actually get it done. More so than corruption; which just seems to be about which segment of the oligarchy is out of favor, will the FM being doing anything by about elite capture by inefficient and incompetent oligarchs that are holding the nation back from being competitive and earning more from increased exports?

Is what is happening substantive or window dressing?

You didn't include IK? 180 million pound from UK into supreme court account (imagine the shrewdness here), PACE apartments, Bini Gala regularization and the list goes on?

These are forgiven crimes by PTI members because it's their God father?

To build the relationship with the incoming Centcom chief and cement the existing ones he built with the current government.
No need to create hyperbolic scenarios beyond that.

Not creating any scenario, where did I do that in my post?

Just pointing out there will be discussions we are not privy to going on

I consider the real test of cracking down on corruption in Pakistan to be :

1. Minimizing Afghan Pakistan border smuggling.
2. Minimizing the black economy.
3. Shutting down ISI political bureau and NAB.

Anything else is waffling.

There have been active efforts on 1 & 2, but both of them are linked with terrorism and communities at the border who rely on it as a major source of income so it won't be easy or pretty.

As for the last, practically looking at things, I don't see it happening until at least things calm down politically. Pakistani politics are massively infiltrated with foreign agents & lobbyists, massively divided, something needs to bring balance to prevent chaos.

Sometimes a hierarchical authority at the top is necessary for an explosive divided society to prevent all-out chaos. Western democracy is not a fits-all-everywhere model. Diverse, tribal, divided societies often need higher order.

My two cents. Obviously the current democracy supporters, won't like it.

Compare to the vultures of Pakistan namely ZARDARI and Nawaz he is innocent

His visits have yet to bear fruit:

1. Release of AH-1Z
2. Upgrades of Block 52's
3. Release of further block 52's
4. Actual Investment in Oil & Gas and mineral sectors and not just talk.

Till now everything is speculation or our view that India is being punished because of love of US with us. The fact of the matter is that crushing pressure is being brought upon Modi to accept the dictates of US. Pakistan unfortunately is just a ploy.

Until some of the above things materialize, I for one will remain skeptical of the new found love of US.

Laying the ground works for Pakistan becoming part of the Abraham Accords ?
Much needed step if it stabilises Pakistan's economic and security conditions strengthening it's diplomatic position.

The war will end soon anyway and the rest of the world will move towards the same thing. No benefit in maintaining a status quo purely for show that serves no purpose.

Frankly, if the U.S. moves forward with providing military weapons to Pakistan, it will signal a major strategic shift — the first in over 20 years.

That move would force India to walk away from any future defense deals with the U.S., effectively resetting the relationship back to square one — right where it was two decades ago.

Something is very seriously wrong with Pakistan's military brass.
