Chengdu J-20 5th Generation Aircraft News & Discussions

There is something special about the nozzles on the engines in this photo.
Some Chinese military fans believe that the engine on the left is suspected to have a 2D TVC nozzle.

Well, I agree there something "strange" but for me to be sure it is not enough to claim it already as a fact!

It is an excellent podcast between Physicist Steve Hsu and TP Huang. They talk about J20 6th gen fighters and how good is J 20 radar compare to F22 radar etc

@Yommie why are you laughing at me, J-8s/J-7s are almost replaced by J-11s and J-10s respectively, so why you're thinking that J-20 is intended to replace 70s era designed jets namely J-8 instead of J-11?

I think we have seen this image in a smaller version already in December (second image), but now an ever clearer, larger version and a video was leaked showing a J-20 in "beast mode" carrying what appears to be 8x PL-15 (?) AAMs.

Unfortunately I cannot post the video!

Interesting, the J-20S twin-seater appeared already twice on aviation media posters recently in conjunction with CNY celebration maybe suggesting, it could enter PLAAF service soon.

Not only has China advanced in airframe and aerodynamics, but the radar on their jets has also been cut above US-similar radar. Watch this video: Galium nitride AESA radar is widely implemented on Chinese J16, J20, and J10.
It has 10 times the power of Galium Arsenide and 77% improvements in range detection, easily reaching 400 km for a fighter jet and 600 km for AWAC. Paired with PL17 of 300 to 400km, there is no escape. But wait, better radar. Galium Oxide is coming
