It's a mixed of arrogance and the Indian reporter asked him the stupid question, you don't expect him to piss off the biggest customer.

Well ... IMO we are not sure, "CAC has been producing J-20s at a rate of “100 units/year” for three consecutive years." since alone this year we haven't heard of any newly converted unit less alone that any - besides the 19th AB - from last yera have been confirmed.

Additionally satellite imagery at least suggest, that fewer J-20s were seen on CAC than last year and as such I am assuming it is more likely, they scaled down production - maybe one of the parallel lines - and converted it to J-20A standrad, which then will be online from Q2 on!

100 frames a year is impressive. Training of pilots is a limiting factor. Pilot training takes time. In WW2 Germans had tens of thousands of fighter planes but only a few thousand fighter pilots. Most of their frames sat on the ground.
