China could dominate the sky with two flying sixth-generation fighter jets as the US struggles to design one

Easy....

Because China has already have 2 5th generation fighter : J-20 and J-35 (which they classify as 4th gen fighters).

Therefore J-36 and J-50 should be the next generation after the 5th generation aka : 6th gen.

Because :

1. It is illogical for China to have 4 different kind of 5th gen fighter.

Huh? Sure.

I guess RC-180 and MQ-28 should also be 6th gen platform because US already had 2 5th Gen fighter (F-22 and F-35) and it does not make sense for them to make another 5th gen platform. Even tho it has no technology that suggest either employ any 6th Gen technology......Since it is illogical for the US to have 4 different kind of 5th gen platform

2. China is at the forefront for the technology needed for 6th gen fighter, such as: AI, advanced sensors, advanced data fusion, direct weapon (laser), metamaterial, quantum technology.

And you can see all that in that in that aircraft video where the engines were smoking like my nan after having a pack of Marlborough Lite?........Wow.

How Advanced Are The New Chinese Jets?

While the Peoples Liberation Army may have flown two new aircraft, the question is how they can impact American strategic thinking.

As a whole, Chinese aircraft “appear to be well behind their US counterparts in stealth, sensor fusion, and speed/maneuverability,” Clark said. “This is because, while the PRC can steal or emulate the exterior elements of a US design, the mission systems, stealth coatings, and propulsion/control technologies inside are either highly-classified and therefore hard to access or difficult to replicate with indigenous Chinese technology.”

He and Davis both pointed to the Chinese struggles to build jet engines with high-quality and durable turbines.

“China’s jet engine and avionics industries are immature, which is why COMAC has not been able to field a viable commercial aircraft until recently and even that aircraft is only being purchased by Chinese carriers who don’t have a choice. Many of China’s military and commercial aircraft depend on western propulsion and avionics parts,” Clark said.

The reality, Clark said, is oftentimes the Chinese build weapon systems that physically mimic what the US has in order to “demonstrate China’s technical prowess and suggest the PLA is not behind the US in weapons development.”

You Lol as if you said something so clever but all you did is show what a clueless person you are. The F-117 wasn't made public (seen)until 1990 and it went IOC in 1983 and flew combat mission in Panama in 1989. Many prototypes were in the black and made public after retiring or tech demonstrator not chosen.

See what happens when you think you're clever? The NGAD is between black program and F-22/F-35 which means the program is acknowledged we even know certain tech it will have but the aircraft itself hasn't been made public. The aim-260 is about to enter service and it's supposedly the size of an aim-120 but it hasn't been made public too.

Btw I love how Yu completely ignore the delta aircraft that I posted. We got sht flying that is decades ahead of anything Yu celestials have on CG. Lulz

J-20 might have flied in year 2001 before it was revealed in year 2011.

J-36 and J-50 may have flied 10 years ago (year 2014) before this prototype revealed in 26th Dec 2024.

Does it make sense for you?

Yes sure.

Well, your guess doesnt make sense. RC-180 and MQ-28 are not the same manned fighter like F-22/F-35.

1. All jets of turbofan could be smokey during fast acceleration including F-119 or F-135.
During rapid acceleration (e.g., throttle changes or afterburner engagement), the fuel-air mixture might temporarily become less efficient, leading to incomplete combustion and visible exhaust.

2. The engine is still interim, maybe WS-10C; the intende engine is still in secrecy

Huh, you do know 6th gen don't really need to be manned, in fact, most Air Force head honcho defined 6th gen should solely be unmanned platform?

You do know why there is heat shield on F-22 and F-35 engine nozzle, right??

If your engine smokey during acceleration, that mean you have gas exhaust, that mean increased IR signature, that mean not stealth......

This is a F-35 on Afterburner, do you see the black smoke coming out from the back of the plane???

Who said 6th gen has to be manned?

I said RC-180 and MQ-28 are unmanned, even not fighter but unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) designed with unique capabilities that complement 5th-generation fighters. hence not in the same category with F-22/F-35.

LOL.

An afterburner does not inherently reduce smoke; it can actually produce more visible exhaust due to incomplete combustion and higher temperatures. To minimize visible emissions, the focus is generally on improving the overall combustion efficiency in the main engine, not in the afterburner itself. While newer engine technologies and exhaust treatments are working to reduce this, afterburner operation often involves a trade-off between increased thrust and increased emissions.

Any deadline in the future cannot be trusted with such projects. More often than not they're delayed. Consider your TR-3 example for the F-35 - was delivered over a year late even then it was only good for training and not combat operations. When discussing sixth gen plane "state of the art" goes without saying.

Asking again - Will there be Chinese influence in the final production design?

Delays or not, the US has been testing ACE engines for YEARS with production expected in 2027.

China hasn’t even begun ground testing on ACE.

You can't say delays or not then give another deadline right after...

Seems you're concerned Chinese design might influence NGAD redesign hence avoiding the question.

lol, whatever (That's not what I said by the way, I said do you know why or how Stealth Platform hide the heat signature, not afterburn trade fuel with energy), I mean you can believe whatever you want, and if you think that is a 6th gen just by looking at the video, be my guest.

And also, that F-35 is not smoking from the engine, that picture is from combat fighter magazine 2019-8 and it's smoking, and the flash is from firing its 25mm gun.

“Under an uncharacteristically gloomy Arizona sky, Col Matt Renbarger, 56th Operations Group commander, opens up with the F-35A’s GAU-22 25mm cannon during a low-angle strafing run” Combat Aircraft Magazine August 2019

You can clearly see the flash is from the gun port, not from the engine exhaust.

That's a just so you know.

I am out of this discussion, good day

How do you know?
And how do you know or gauge how advance that platform you saw from a video?

I have a talk with my brother who was a USMC F-18 pilot and currently working for Rolls Royce in their Trent Development team in the UK, his comment aligned with most other, which is we don't know what that platform it, it could be anything, can it be 6th gen? Sure, but without more context on how this platform is different than other 5th gen, there are not much to go on other than it is a flying tailless design with thrust vectoring capabilities, all of these are on the 5th Gen Platform already.

What he said was, the bigger thing with 3 engines probably a is not true stealth bomber as you have engine on top of the aircraft both air dynamically and heat wise, maybe the Chinese can mask that engine heat and deflect the shape, but he don't know as he can't just tell from that video alone. And the smaller one looks a lot like RC-180 or Boeing X-36.

So tell me, what you see in that video would suggest it is a 6th fighter? I don't know about you, but for me I saw a tailless design that may have thrust vectoring platform that may or may not be manned. All those are already existed technology, in fact, my brother point it out (who is another fighter pilot and work for RR with Trent Engine development) said that small craft have more similiarity to a RC-180 than a 6th Gen Fighter, you can't get just that and say it's a 6th gen because 5th gen would have it too, so you must have seen something else or know something else to tell me that is a 6th gen platform? So please educate me.

In fact, what or how you define 6th gen fighter? LOLOLOL, anything with delta wing and tail less is 6th gen? Well, then sure, why not?
You just proved my point here mate. Lololol

Sixth gen?

Chinese haven't been able to deploy a fifth Gen yet.

This is comedy Central podcast now 😁
