Recently released images on social media have offered a rare glimpse into China’s naval advancements, revealing a new stealth warship at a naval base.
The vessel, identified as a next-generation corvette, represents a significant development for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), being the first of its kind in their fleet.
The warship, which appears to be a successor to the Type 056 corvettes (NATO reporting name: Jiangdao-class), has drawn considerable attention from defense analysts. Some speculate that the vessel may serve as a test platform for new technologies, while others suggest it could be part of an export order for an undisclosed foreign buyer.
Andreas Rupprecht, an experienced observer of China’s defense sector, commented on the development: “The ship could serve as a comprehensive test platform, which would align with its advanced design and capabilities.”
The corvette’s design emphasizes stealth, incorporating large, flat, angled surfaces that are meticulously crafted to reduce various signatures. These features include minimizing optical, infrared, acoustic, and radar signatures, enhancing the ship’s ability to evade detection in hostile environments. The advanced hull design further highlights the PLAN’s focus on survivability and effectiveness in potential combat situations.
Despite the detailed images, official information regarding the warship remains limited. However, the leaked images and expert analyses have provided valuable insights into China’s ongoing efforts to modernize its naval forces and maintain its strategic edge in maritime operations.

@Deino Is this you?

Yes, this is not a mass-produced combat ship. It is a test bed for military scientific research purposes.

Yes, it‘s me ;)

牛逼!

I don't know the direction and depth of your research. If you are a very professional technical observer, you can learn about the "China Science and Technology City High-tech Expo"

It is a not very well-known EXPO, and the general public knows very little about it. However, it is known to international professionals.

Military technology accounts for half of the proportion. But unlike the Zhuhai Air Show, most of it is new technology inside the weapons. All kinds of radar, electronic control, unmanned aerial vehicles, laser weapons, communication technology, space technology. Of course, because 624 is in Mianyang, they will also take their engines to participate in this event............... Not very interesting, but very, very professional...............

Incredible. China keeps going and going.

It's the size of a Corvette. I wouldn't put too much into this ship. Maybe for export??? Egypt instead of j-31 u get this 🤝, Algeria too.

an experimental stealth corvette with low-observability features with vertical launch system interesting. I'm not sure what China is trying to get out of this.

Chinese naval platform might be intended not only to test stealth technologies but also to evaluate a “fully electric” hybrid propulsion system, similar to that used in the U.S. Zumwalt-class destroyers.....

What is the device on the tail?
I thought it was HQ-10, but there is only one hole.
Is it a test instrument or a laser launcher?

This is a test platform, not a combat ship.

Any weapon on it is possible, but it is not permanently deployed, and it can be replaced with other weapon systems at any time.

It looks incredible.
Don't be fooled by its appearance.

In fact, it was a very small test ship. The estimated displacement is only 2000~3000t. PLAN has a lot of other test ships, all bigger than this guy, it's just that they aren't that cool.

This is what Chinese military fans found, about its stealth naval gun

A new generation of 57mm stealth naval guns. If the tests are successfully passed, it will replace the PLAN 75mm naval gun in service in the future
