We knew this would happened.... Chinos fly an empty prototype and they go mega nuts thinking they have just bested the US. Right now they are in a celestial high due to years of inferiority complex. I mean chinos couldn't just enjoy their "6th gen" reveal without mentioning us/U.S then they get pissed off that you would respond with facts.

The US operates the most advanced aerospace industry in the world and has access to the most advanced aerospace technology. A long track record of producing the most advanced aircraft and operating those aircraft in wars and gaining a ton of operational experience.

How do you know that US still operates the most advanced aerospace industry in the world?

Long track record is about the past; operational experience is not about technology.

The US HAS flown NGAD prototypes, there’s no maybe about it.

And you make the false assumption that a Chinese 5th gen fighter is equal to an American one.

I have no doubt that NGAD is more advanced than anything China can produce, and the USAF Secretary holds the same assessment.

You said same thing with China's ev car, 5G, hyperloop, supercomputer, rocket, etc until you wake up that they are ahead you already.

self praising is good for you only, China is working on latest tech comparable to NGAD and NGAD is on the pause right now, because it will be extremely expensive ( 300 million +) per jet because of adaptive engine for NGAD, lets wait and see will NGAD project will continue in current form or USAF/Pentagon will scale down the NGAD project because $$$$

Fwiw, i tentatively call J-36 as a new class of combat aircraft, a Fightercruiser, based on it's size, expected performance and capabilities. Shamelessly inspired by the WW2 dutch Fokker G1 jachtkruiser.

I don't think that's a fighter in the conventional sense given its size, the wing configuration, the twin seats, and the large hefty undercarriage. Seems like a fighter bomber, or possible EW platform. The other option is given the 3 engines, a high altitude high speed strike aircraft designed to launch hypersonic stand off weapons. I suspect this will have a large weapons bay.

That's my current guess as well, a long range attack platform.

ol wait and see, USAF/ Pentagon have no unlimited funds to continue this extremely expensive NGAD project anymore, and this is why USAF/Pentagon having a review right now to asses the alternative, wait for next year that USAF/Pentagon to continue this project or scale it down significantly

Chinese inferiority complex at its best here. It’s only nationalistic bragging to you, because you hate what they have to say.

As far as technology pinnacle that’d be the B-21 bomber.

Oh, but i am not chinese, i'm romanian. So i'd like to believe i see things differently and without too much bias from my angle (though i do utterly detest the US empire, i try to stay objective and realistic on such military issues- bottom line being that US military gear has to obey the same physical laws as anyone else's, and is not invincible, far from it, as the war in Ukraine shows).

And to be honest, the B-21 is quite pedestrian, a warmed up B-2 concept with nothing radically new about it apart from more modern electronics and materials, very likely as the J-36 has too. And being subsonic, that's easy meat for the J-36.
