NGAD will need to be larger than an F-22 and have a deeper magazine. The B-21 could supplement by carrying long range AAMs, but NGAD and CCAs will need to carry the load.
The NGAD programme is a rudderless ship right now, they don't have a definitive plan or firm requirements, and therefore recent comments on changing the programme, redesigns, lowering costs etc.
I really do think the recent Chinese announcements of their 6th Gen programme is to "force" the confused NGAD programme into making a "reactive" decision that may not be what the USA wants, or needs. ie to reinforce the overall confusion in the NGAG programme.
China's 6th Gen programme meets the military needs of China, and is a firm plan with clear goals that they are working towards. The USA programme, less so. War by other, and all means![]()
The most recent design of NGAD looks very tiny.
I am starting to think that they are going to convert the NGAD into an unmanned loyal wingman that would be used to pair with the upgrade F-22.
Actually we know NOTHING about any design, all we have are some unofficial renders from companies - similar to the early ATF concepts which in the end looked totally different to both the YF-22/-23. As such there is no recent design we know. It's all guesswork or made-up by publishers.
The United States Government is well aware of the huge gap that exists between them and China in terms of industrial scale and cost control. Therefore, their only hope of maintaining military superiority is to maintain a generational difference in weapons. We can also expect that the NGAD will never show up again.
Besides this, the official CGI released for both the Naval NGAD concepts and Air force NGAD concepts show that they're MASSIVE in size, easily dwarfing the F-22.Actually we know NOTHING about any design, all we have are some unofficial renders from companies - similar to the early ATF concepts which in the end looked totally different to both the YF-22/-23. This is said to be one of the bidding programs. ------ It has failed!

Okay!Unfortunaltely not, it is a Fan-made artwork made by a guy well known from the Secret projects Forum.
Videos, we need videos bhai to celebrate the birth of NGAD, dont tell me miscarriageBesides this, the official CGI released for both the Naval NGAD concepts and Air force NGAD concepts show that they're MASSIVE in size, easily dwarfing the F-22.
This makes sense as they're supposed to be command centers more than they are fighters, each one commanding a set of loyal wingman drones. A fighter like that would normally be massive to fit all that computer hardware, and have enough fuel to sit back and let the drones do most of the work.
