A Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy task group comprising of aircraft carrier Shandong (Hull 17), guided-missile destroyers Yan'an (Hull 106) and Zhanjiang (Hull 165), and guided-missile frigate Yuncheng (Hull 571) will visit Hong Kong from July 3 to 7, 2025. During the visit, open-ship-day activities and cultural exchanges will be held to help Hong Kong compatriots have a more direct and in-depth understanding of the development of China's national defense and military building in the new era.

6 is a good number for medium to long term, and many Chinese seem to agree.

I think, total would be 8. Liaoning and Shandong will become training / littoral defense below 1st Island chain around Taiwan, etc.

6 larger one's will cover second Island chain and Indo-Pacific because the Chinese will need contant presence in the Middle East / Gawader port area due to heavy trade operations up coming through Pakistan. This makes practical sense.

Yes, Liaoning and Shandong will retire from the front line sometime, there will be likely about 6 advanced carriers in the future for sometime.
