As a large-scale general-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platform independently developed in China, this model adopts the design philosophy of a "universal platform + modular mission payloads." Leveraging independent integration and technological innovation, it boasts core advantages such as high payload capacity, high service ceiling, wide speed range, and short takeoff and landing. With a length of 16.35 meters, a wingspan of 25 meters, a maximum takeoff weight of 16 tons, and a payload capacity of up to 6,000 kilograms, it can operate for up to 12 hours and achieve a ferry range of 7,000 kilometers. Its performance indicators rank among the top in similar products.
Through the exchange of modular mission payloads, the "Jiutian" UAV can be widely adapted to diverse civilian scenarios: it can undertake heavy cargo transportation and precision logistics delivery in remote mountainous areas and islands, rapidly restore communication and deliver disaster relief equipment in emergency rescue operations, and also provide services such as geographic mapping, disaster assessment, and mineral resource surveys.
The successful maiden flight marks a new breakthrough in China's large-scale UAV technology. The "Jiutian" UAV was designed by the First Aircraft Design and Research Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China under the commission of Shaanxi Unmanned Equipment Technology Co., Ltd.
