Dassault sets up MRO for Rafale, Mirage fighters in India; Indian national to head venture

@Pingle Here in India, Dassault has the opportunity to establish a regional MRO hub. Indonesia and the UAE have collectively ordered over 120 Rafales, while India already operates 36 Rafales and has an additional 26 in negotiation, along with around 50 Mirages to service. This totals more than 230 fighters requiring MRO support, which would benefit from economies of scale. Additionally, Safran's engine MRO facility in Hyderabad is expected to be operational by 2025, creating a robust support ecosystem for these aircraft.

Does it mean that we will be soon having an assembly line for Rafales...

UAE still has few dozen M2K (even if few sold to Morocco), and so does Taiwan. That's about 150+ M2K, which can recieve MRO facility.

New marketing strategy. Every defence company right now needs money, because new war strategy there is no role of big ticket items. This is age of light and easy to carry precision strike weapons.

Dassault is doing all that it can to convince the GoI that it should be given a contract for local assembly of at least 100 Rafales. This MRO is another step in that direction.

But the way this govt is thinking, unless some massive jolt doesn't happen, there will be absolutely nothing they'll do. IAF must be hoping that the PAF's upcoming J-35 acquisition will finally wake the GoI.

Till now HAL was managing the MRO work for the IAF's Mirage-2000 fleet. Now it may be taken over by this MRO facility, managed directly by Dassault itself.

Do you think Indonesian Rafale MRO will be in India where Indonesian Air Force is able to upgrade its F16 into block 50 and refurbished our 1980's ordered F16 into brand new ones in its facility ?

Indonesian Aerospace also will be Rafale MRO for heavy MRO while Indonesian Air Force for light and medium MRO

Do you think we dont get TOT when we buy 42 Rafale ?

Lets compete for UAE Rafale MRO then !!!

IAF is like a headless chicken that starts running around when danger comes knocking on their door, it's their own fault that AMCA is in the situation it is in, and now they are hoping (quite naively I might add) that somehow a 4th gen aircraft will be able to counter a 5th gen platform

IAF knew just how bad the stealth of Su 57 was from the very start but Instead of throwing their weight around AMCA they kept dilly-dallying it till 2018 and kept asking for ridiculous demands (including but not limited to super cruise)
Then came Non Biological PM who froze funding till PPP model was achieved and F 414 engine ToT was approved
I total we lost nearly 6 precious years due to the idiosyncrasies of these nincompoops in IAF and MoD

Will be more expensive. So dassault will just opt to get all MRO deals for India itself. You can't keep multiplying maintainence spends for ego purposes alone.

i.e- India will service all Indonesian Rafales
