Not to mentioned those billion hard earned dollars could have going to domestic R&D and trained their own talents, India's rival would love to see this scenario of them going for foreign off the shelf products.

Yes, France may milk them for anything between $5-6 Billion for 40 jets, and in fact good chance India may well be the last customer and receive the final jet off the line after rest of the world has moved on

I agree that China is the way bigger and way more dangerous threat.

It's on a completely different level. And I don't think Pakistan even wants war anymore. Maybe Modi would be itching for a skirmish or short victory,but he probably understands that the north is where the real battle is.

Try to understand why country alike USA inducting latest version of F15 version and that's also 4th gen fighter..

The best answer is within your control areas as india needed to defend against Chinese fighters, regardless they flying 5th and 6th, 4 generation will be good to defence against them

It's on a completely different level. And I don't think Pakistan even wants war anymore. Maybe Modi would be itching for a skirmish or short victory,but he probably understands that the north is where the real battle is.

That depends - we have seen 1965, when Pakistans believed that they can pushed india and fight a war, but once they realised can't win by military war..... Expect kargil, nothing happened

And with china, we don't have any interest to go for war, but if they come to our belonging lands, we don't have option

But if india will have big difference on military with china, then again possible for misadventures

No, not a lie, a fantasy where your 4th Gen planes can beat Stealth fighters, but again, prior to 2019 you had fantasies too, so maybe that is not a bad thing

I don't live in fantasy -

Try to understand the benefits of 5th generation fighters and where are the advantages.

Only a people who does not have any knowledge can say that 5th generation fighter will dominate everywhere!

As I said - 4th++ aircrafts not going anywhere before 2050, even from USA airforce.

Because 5th generation have advantages of stealth but a lots of depends of scenarios and many things...... Even USA stealth planes was shoot down by older Soviet defence missiles - just for fyi
