Don’t show your back at border, home advisor tells BGB

If our Soldiers are killed people will not be quiet

There will be Huge pressure on the Government to Respond
With Force

There were instances where BSF entered BD territory to shoot folks. Or they shot at farmers from their sides for no reasons. Not everyone is smuggler.
Please be sure that the BGB showed its true colours in its encounter with its own Army. While I don't know much about the contemporary Bangladesh Army, I know the BGB, its predecessors, the Bengal Military Police, the Eastern Frontier Rifles, the East Pakistan Rifles and the Bangladesh Rifles inside out, due to family reasons. Brigadier Torgul and the 2nd Battalion of the Indian EFR are the reference points.

If you want to know how dangerous it is, as a force, to itself and to its neighbours, INCLUDING its neighbours within its own country, recollect the mutiny of 2009, when they killed practically all their officers.

Talk to me about any organisation or any movement in Bangladesh, and I will be either supportive or neutral. Talk to me about the BGB, and I will tell you that the entire lot should be shot. In the interests of Bangladesh.

Q: Is the 2.5:1 deployment on the border in India's favour a necessity or a show of military strength?

A: The ground reality requires it. As you know, the army is not deployed on the Bangladesh border. But our BSF is the largest border guarding force in the world. And it has lots on its plate. The BSF is a bulwark against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants besides smugglers and criminals of both countries. So the deployment is actually in everyone's interest.

If Indians are entering Bangladesh illegally, you can shoot them immediately

We will do the same

Please check.

The organisation in question is descended from the Ramgarh Rifles of 1795.

That's 229 years.
I watched in 1965 as an EPR of 12 battalions and around 10,000 troopers fought our (West Bengal) border forces of 4 battalions (my father was in charge, and faced Brigadier Torgul), and got nowhere, although they won engagements at other points, apparently in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, where there was no organised Indian border presence worth speaking about. These 4 battalions were absorbed into the BSF when Rustamjee, whose experience was solely in fighting dacoit gangs in MP, took over the borders and formed the BSF.

While I appreciate the message the honorable adviser is trying to put across the fence, but he should keep a tight leash on the border guard.

I am quite sure he knows how to, since he commended this very force once.

The naya-naya home advisor seems to be a motor mouth

Turns out, they do.

Then you are free to shoot them

Your minister has a problem with BSF shooting Illegal Bangladeshi Migrants and infiltrators

Hence he is asking BGB to act tough

But that is a Very Imprudent Thing to Say or Do

If Modi JI gives a Free Hand to
BSF and Army , it will lead to a lot of destruction

83 Flag Meetings Already Held

Looks like Bangladesh's Minister is fishing in Troubled Waters Especially when BGB and BSF are handling the situation professionally

I had to double check if it was you.😃

*Bangladesh only 53 years old.

*There were instances where BSF entered BD territory to shoot folks. Or they shot at farmers from their sides for no reasons. Not everyone is smuggler.

*Yes BGB also has corruption but nonetheless they do capture smugglers. That is true. With a Democratic government, hopefully they eradicate those who are part of the problem.
Brother BGB is older than Pakistan, almost as old as the British Bengal Empire.

Also don’t encourage them. This force wasn’t created to play doddles with some drunkards with guns. This was and is a highly trained counter-insurgency/ skirmisher/light infantry, whose sole purpose is to put it’s opponents to hell.

For first one & half century of it’s history, it acted as the designated sovereign police of the british empire in Bengal & Assam. And essentially put down all rebellions single handedly in this region.

It is the successor of the very force that cornered & captured Surja Sen, the rebel, and brought him to the gallow. Before that they fought the Chakma & Mijo kings for sovereign authority over CHT.

You hear about British Marshall prowess? In Bengal, it’s these good old fellas of the Rifles. Ask the Burmeseb, how they like the beating they got in Naaf War. BDR whooped them so good, the whole Nasaka force of Burma has to be disbanded & reformed.

It’s JCO & NCO corps is one of the most ferocious, most notorious among it’s counterparts in Bangladesh or the neighbours.

So if anyone’s poking them, I will say, Don't. Simply don't play with fire.
