The Egyptian and Chinese Air Forces will begin implementing the second edition of the joint training "Eagles of Civilization 2026" on Egyptian territory, starting from mid-August until early next September.
Colonel Chen Xi, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, announced this date during a press briefing held on Friday, August 14, 2026, according to what was reported by the New China News Agency (Xinhua) and the official China Military Online platform of the Chinese army.
The maneuvers, according to the Chinese spokesman's statements, focus on air combat tactics, achieving air superiority, combat search and rescue operations, in addition to force employment exercises and mission execution. Chen Xi described this edition as the “second iteration” of the joint training, stressing that it will enhance mutual trust and traditional friendship between the two countries, deepen practical cooperation between the two armies, and contribute to achieving regional stability and peace.
The first version: J-10 fighters and Chinese early warning aircraft on Egyptian territory
The first edition of “Eagles of Civilization” was held in the spring of 2025, starting on April 19 and continuing until early May at Wadi Abu Rish Air Base in Beni Suef Governorate, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Information Service. The Chinese Air Force participated at that time with J-10B/C fighters belonging to the 18th and 177th Air Brigades, in addition to a Y-20U air refueling aircraft and a KJ-500 early warning and air control aircraft, while Egypt participated with its MiG-29M/M2 fighters.
The new training comes amid growing military cooperation between Cairo and Beijing, and in light of repeated reports of Egyptian interest in the Chinese J-10C and J-35 fighters, but this interest has not yet turned into an official announcement of a deal, as the Chinese Ministry of Defense has previously denied reports of concluding a confirmed contract between the two sides.
The participation of Chinese fighters in the two Egyptian exercises gives the Egyptian Air Force the opportunity to learn practically about Chinese combat systems, at a time when it relies on a mixture of American F-16, Russian MiG-29, and French Rafale fighters, which makes diversifying its sources of armament an option in Cairo’s future calculations.
Coming soon.. but stop fu**ing asking.. the more you ask, the more they go secretive..Cool, where are the weapons, the aircraft that we were talking about buying, where’s the pl15 missiles, the electronic warfare aircraft’s, the kj 700s, the equipment we were going after. “coming soon”, every time there’s “news” about this deal going on there’s no clarification on the weapons/equipment constantly putting us on edge, so that leaves us in the dark. Training exercises are useless info and doesn’t help whatsoever, we’re way past that point and doesn’t confirm shit.Coming soon.. but stop fu**ing asking.. the more you ask, the more they go secretive..
