Liqiang: Chinese investments in Egypt are the fastest growing
The Chinese Ambassador to Cairo, Lia Liqiang, said that China aims to achieve 5% economic growth for the year 2024. This is a much higher number than the expectations of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and sends positive messages about the Chinese economy.
He added to Al Arabiya Business that the growth that China will achieve will be reflected in supporting economic and trade relations between China and Egypt, by investing in a project to establish an integrated Chinese industrial zone in Egypt.
He pointed out that China is preparing to transfer its expertise to Egypt through the implementation of a huge industrial, commercial and logistical project that is considered the largest Chinese investment in the Arab region, pointing out that Chinese investments in Egypt are the fastest growing as China is Egypt's largest trading partner. He refused to disclose the size of these investments, while there are reports of a huge investment amounting to billions of dollars.
The ambassador explained that Egypt has the industrial capabilities and resources that qualify it to become one of the industrial pioneers in the region.
The ambassador also confirmed that the industrial city includes many strategic and logistical industries that qualify it for export and increase its export rates, whether to China or other countries, in addition to the millions of job opportunities that the project will provide for Egyptians.
Liqiang revealed that the actual procedures to launch the project have begun and coordination between the two governments has begun to announce the final form of the project in the next short period.
At the end of last February, the Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade announced expanded discussions with Wang Wentao, the Chinese Minister of Commerce, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss a number of proposals about establishing a Chinese industrial zone on the Mediterranean Sea to provide the needs of the local market and export abroad.

Discovering a treasure of gold worth a million bullion in Egypt!

A strategy to localize the railway industry in Egypt
Within the framework of Egypt's directions for renaissance in the field of transport and communication, and the localization of important industries in several fields, the Ministry of Transport announced a strategy to localize the railway industry in Egypt, through coordination with international companies to invest in this field inside Egypt.
Egypt works to provide means of railway transportation at home, provide hard currency, and transfer manufacturing expertise and technology to Egyptian workers in the railway industry and its derivatives.
It was announced that the Ministry of Transport is coordinating with (8) international companies to establish factories specialized in the fields of railways, in addition to the presence of the Egyptian SEMAF factory within the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
Details of the strategy to localize the railway industry in Egypt include the following:
Cooperation with the French company Alstom to establish an industrial complex in Burj Al Arab on an area of 66 acres, in order to produce electrical systems and railway components (signals - lubricants - electrical control panels and circuits - electrical braids).
In addition to establishing an Egyptian factory to produce all types of mobile units (metro, LRT tram, monorail, and high-speed train).
Work is also underway to establish an integrated industrial complex and a logistics area in Burj Al Arab.
Joint manufacturing with the Spanish company Talgo to manufacture passenger cars for railway trains on an area of 25 acres in the Kom Abu Rady area in Beni Suef Governorate in Upper Egypt.
Working with the Spanish company Coolway to establish a factory to produce internal components for trains and mass transportation.
Cooperation with Linza Egypt Company to establish a new company under the name (Egyptian Company for Engineering Industries and Development) to establish a factory for the production of railway spare parts in the industrial zone in Beni Suef.
Coordination with the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem and the Egyptian Railway Manufacturing Company “NERC” to establish a factory to produce metro trains, and the factory is being established in the eastern Port Said area.
Partnership with the Austrian company Fust Alpine to establish a factory for the production of railway switches and management, operation and development of the Abbasiya workshops for the production of railway branches in Egypt.
Agreement with the Suez Steel Company to manufacture bars and heavy sections, to establish a factory to manufacture bars and sections with a production capacity of 800 thousand tons annually.
The transportation sector in Egypt is considered one of the most developed and growing sectors in the last ten years.

Ahmed Ezz El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian-Chinese Committee said:
China currently views Egypt as the future for Chinese investments and the development of trade with Africa and the Arab countries as a result of several reasons, namely the preference for trade and investment in light of the BRICS agreement, and the geographical location, especially with the growth of multiple projects on the Gulf of Suez, which represent huge job opportunities for Chinese construction companies, which have also benefited from the new administrative capital’s projects.
