Elon Musk hints Tesla FSD for China may be possible very soon

You literally have no clue what's going on.

FSD is mocked by all Chinese netizens. Completely a joke.

Xiaomi doesn't have a working Autopilot, everyone knew it, you don't?

All the Xiaomi fans are buying Xiaomi because of the performance, not autopilot.

You believe in one-sided story, it's your freedom.

Tesla FSD speeds through mountain roads, leaving passengers screaming!

Tesla Reportedly Says Baidu Tie-Up Is on China Map Navigation, Not FSD

March 14 -- Tesla has rebutted reports that the US carmaker has partnered with Chinese tech giant Baidu to improve its assisted driving system in China, clarifying that they have allied only on map navigation, according to Shanghai Securities News.

The reports about Tesla working with Baidu to improve the Full Self-Driving system in China are false, Shanghai Securities News reported today, citing the Texas-based automaker.

According to online reports, Tesla os working with Baidu to leverage its advanced mapping technology, with the Beijing-based company dispatching a team dedicated to integrating its map data with FSD version 13 to help it better adapt to local road conditions.

Tesla has been working to eliminate obstacles to its assisted driving system entering China for many years. In January 2020, the company jointly announced with Baidu that it would switch its map data service provider to Baidu Maps, relaunching its navigation system based on the new service.

In terms of data security, Tesla established a data center in Shanghai to enable localized data storage in 2021.

According to a report by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the National Internet Emergency Center on the security requirements for car data released on April 28 last year, all models produced at the Tesla Gigafactory in Shanghai were in compliance. It was the only compliant foreign firm in that batch.

On Feb. 25, Tesla took the first step in introducing FSD to China after making an over-the-air software update to autos, enhancing its Navigate on Autopilot driver-assistance system with FSD features such as autopilot for urban roads.

Utterly futuristic: summon your Tesla with one tap, and let FSD drive you home. | Tesla FSD in China

Here we go...just like they did last year in the US...Tesla is making it available for free for a month...however it seems to limited to only HW4 vehicles (2023+ model years) unlike the version in the US that was 2019+.

Keep in mind he is also comparing the US version of FSD to Huawei's natively built China version.

An owner of both Huawei ADS and Tesla FSD compares the two intelligent driving systems.

Huawei still heavily reliant on pre-mapping. If it encounters a place not pre-mapped it can only use lane cruse control (LCC) which does not support intersection turning.

Meanwhile Tesla's vision system will attempt to dynamically figure out the road situation even if it is a dirt road not on any map.

Some guy here acting like his is the lost son of musk, long live the King trump and the queen musk, LOOOL.

Tesla's FSD is an utter joke, just learn to accept it and move on, tesla is nothing without China's manufacturing capabilities.

I just hope the US military weaponary are not like the poor joke a.k.a Tesla's FSD.
Musk is too busy with politics he has no time for his business. that’s why he neglects everything that’ll why still very far from his aim of unsupervised self driving.
Tesla has not made any significant progress since months.
even the chief of Tesla Fsd department admits it.
to be full independent Tesla needs to go from 500 miles now to 700,000 miles without human intervention.
700,000 miles is the benchmark
that’s still far away for Tesla Fsd.
I would not bet my life on Tesla software.

I think China has enough good software engineers they will eventually make it. from technical point that’s not a problem.

The video I posted of the guy who owns both a Huawei self driving system and a Tesla system says Huawei has gone down the wrong path by relying too much on LiDAR over the vision system...which is exactly what Elon Musk warned would doom the releases of competitor's self driving systems.

Tesla is definitely going to go worldwide before China's best system.

that comes down to software.

if the program tells the car to run against a wall then it runs against the wall.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Trial in China Delayed by Regulatory Checks

Tesla’s highly anticipated trial launch of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in China has suffered a setback, as some users report not receiving the feature update due to a delay in regulatory approval.

Tesla China said Monday that it is working to secure government approval for both software and hardware under new national guidelines issued by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation. The company said the trial will resume once all preparations are complete.

Tesla Resumes China’s FSD Trial, Rolls Out Software Update to Meet New Rules

Tesla began rolling out software version 2024.45.32.12 in China on Friday, enabling the resumption of a previously halted one-month free trial of its Intelligent Assisted Driving system, as the feature is now called in the Chinese market.

The company said earlier this week it was reworking its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in China to comply with updated regulatory requirements, which forced Tesla to temporarily pause a planned one-month trial that began on March 17.

Tesla confirmed on Monday that both Hardware 3.0 (HW3) and Hardware 4.0 (HW4) vehicles will receive its assisted driving software in China, known as Full Self Driving (Supervised) in the United States.

The company began internal testing of FSD Version 12.6 on HW3 vehicles with employees last week.

The one month free trial of the technology has resumed rolling out to customers on Friday following the latest version of the software. Below are the complete release notes of the 2024.45.32.12 version.

You will see how backward Tesla FSD is.

The North American version of Tesla FSD (ie not a Chinese trained one) AI + computer vision challenges its Chinese LiDAR competitors in their own backyards which it has never seen.
