F-7 of Pakistan Air Force

F-7 and F-7PG have served their purpose with diligence. Now it's time for the much better JF-17 Blocks.

One of the first fighters to implement the double delta design for its generation, it have served PAF well, especially in the transition from Soviet-Style high alt interception to modern medium-low alt maneuver BFM.

And it still have great potential yet to be explored, even when it have became obsolete as a fighter - combining the structural redundancies of the MiG-21 fuselage with the double delta airfoil, a clean F-7PG repurposed as an unmanned aerial target drone can actually display very outstanding flight characteristics, enough to simulate the flight performance of competitive 4th gen fighters.

Regardless of if they end up in scrapyards, return to the parts that constitutes them, end up as museum exhibits, serving as reminders of PAF's history, or end their last flight in a blaze of glory, making their last contribution as benchmarks for future PAF weaponry, the legacy of F-7PG would be remembered for generations to come.

I was amazed when the PAF first ordered them, Chinese built 'Mig-21's'. It was much later that I understood that they were a lot more than Mig-21's. The Chinese version was a different and much more modern aircraft.

Also cheap as chips.
