The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has introduced revised travel regulations requiring Pakistani dual nationals to carry either a valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or a Pakistani visa when travelling to the country.

Under the updated policy, dual citizens will no longer be permitted to enter Pakistan with an expired or cancelled NICOP. The requirement applies to travellers arriving from all countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.

FIA officials said passengers travelling on foreign passports must present a valid NICOP or an approved Pakistani visa before boarding. Airlines have been formally notified of the new rules and instructed not to allow passengers without the required documents to travel.

The agency warned that travellers arriving with invalid NICOPs will be denied entry and returned on the next available flight. Officials said the measure was introduced after airlines repeatedly transported passengers holding expired or cancelled identity cards.

The Ministry of Interior has also communicated the revised policy to immigration authorities, with the new travel requirements now in effect at airports nationwide.

TLDR: You can no longer travel to Pakistan as a dual national on an expired NICOP. You need a visa or a valid NICOP.

Why? Do you know that would effect Pakistan badly. We constantly have every new PM tell overseas Pakistanis how important they are for Pakistan financially and for Pakistan's image abroad and you want to make their life harder?

In Military you have to give up any other passport, unsure why normal civilians should be subject to that

100% correct. Dual nationality is being exploited by various mechanisms and by various parties, all to the detriment of Pakistan. I am happy to jump through 10 additional administrative hoops to visit Pakistan in view of this sad reality.

I dont think the armed forces are allowed dual nationality, one of my relatives left his UK nationality and joined Pakistan army. The same rule must apply to Judiciary, beuracrats, politicians.

Armed forces, civil servants, politicians - all cannot hold dual nationality whilst in active service.

But Pakistan as a state has gone so ridiculously easy that multiple forces have started to take liberties against Pakistan



If we weren't so simpish towards Afghans right from the beginning, they would never have been allowed to cause the problems they have


Pakistan has a lot to do, many areas to improve and we must provide a better quality of life for our people

But equally we have to give consequences for anti-Pakistan propaganda and behaviour


This means throwing out afghans
It means a census where we identify false I.D cards and remove families and groups who shouldn't be in Pakistan
It means stronger border control
Prosecution of politicians and individuals who make anti Pakistan or seditious statements

Being Lax doesn't help us

We at a minimum need a greater background check of individuals who want to enter Pakistan, if we find questionable propaganda, then it's a automatic refusal of entry and visa

Good decision, but what are they going to with the people working at the airports from the baggage handlers to the customs to the check in agents?

I would fired them after conducting a quick audit. They take 30 mins to check in each person. Work the system by having people to give them bribes and they then get cut in front of everyone else - observed this in Lahore multiple times. Last time it took me close to 3 hours from check in to get through customs. They are deeply corrupt and slow. I don't even think they have a clue on what they are doing or for what, they just go through the motion. Typically your customs are the first line of defense against foreign agents coming to your country and I can slip easily through their process - because there isnt one.
I had a female check in agent at Skardu pocket my cash that I paid for extra weight. I requested a receipt and the b*tch laughed at me with a condescending grin that I was a foreign Pakistani.

Then i recommend you show them the US passport and the NICOP, as well as a few green currency notes.
