how stupid, he basically admits to collusion and throwing the match.

You're right. This is an admission of bare faced match fixing. It is as many have speculated.

Riyadh Mahrez is a most unsavoury character anyway.

No , not really.. you are probably talking about Maghrib players( Algeria,Morocco and Tunisia) their players who play in Europe are mostly born in Europe and mostly carry european citizenship you can check them out , they don't even speak arabic.

Unlike Egypt, 99% of our players who play in Europe used to play in Egypt.
even the previous Sweden's goalkeeper and Arsenal used to play in Egypt (guess it was a team called mazara dina) .
No, you misunderstood what I said.

I'm not talking about where they have been born, I'm saying that the number of Arab players in top European leagues increased after Arab billionaires started to buy European clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, etc.

Politics and economic ties are very important in this sort of stuff. When Iran had better relations with Europe during Khatami, lots of our players played in Germany like Ali Daei, Khodadad Azizi, Karim Bagheri, etc. Then when Carlos Queiroz joined Iran, more Iranian players went to Europe. But now that our coach is Iranian and our relations with Europe are terrible, it's harder than ever for people of Iranian nationality to play in top European teams.
