I agree with you that the economy, and the rate of population growth, represent the biggest dangers to its long term survival, no matter who is in charge.

99% of protests globally don't meet their objectives. That doesnt mean the protests are failures. The point is to bring attention to the goals.

1- It wasn't 300 billion PKR monthly. Are you seriously saying the government of Pakistan was giving a US$ 1 billion dollar a month subsidy on fuel? Our fuel import was at an all time high this April....where we imported fuel product worth US$ 964 million in April 2026.

So how the heck was IK giving a 300 billion a month subsidy back in 2022?

Kuch aur maheenon main log kahain gay IK gave a 300 million PKR a day subsidy! Or the reason it got so hot in Pakistan? Water issues? Everything under the sun? Meri khala kay bete ka rishta?

2- Do you know how much subsidy the current setup is giving on fuel? (Hint, it's 3 digit millions)

I mean you wanna do IK bashing or whatever, but either stick to actual numbers, or keep it general. But at least do not make claims on "definitive economic blows" on fake numbers dude.

Idhr abhi tak 300 billion saal ki subsidy par rona araha hai, while your current government is shoving loans down your throat at 7 times markup just got getting 150 billion and doing everything it can to screw over the salaried person and avoid it's own incompetencies in taxation? I think that's a more pressing problem than the 300 billion "monthly" subsidy in 2022

You're confusing the physical oil import bill with the total cost of the relief package. Nobody is saying the state gave a Rs. 300 billion monthly subsidy just at the petrol pump.

The total PM Relief Package cost around Rs. 370–390 billion over 4 months (roughly Rs. 100 billion a month). The FBR and Ministry of Finance confirmed that slashing the petrol levy and GST to zero stripped the state of Rs. 100B+ a month in vital revenue, while the Rs. 5 electricity cut cost another Rs. 26.5 billion monthly.

The current government's taxation and high interest borrowing are completely painful, but that's the direct consequence of breaking the IMF agreement in Feb 2022. When that package froze the IMF program, central bank reserves collapsed from $17.6B to under $10B, causing the international credit rating downgrades that forced the country to take high-markup loans just to avoid defaulting.

The fact that you conveniently omitted to mention the sole reason for the protests - IK's release from jail - clearly shows the robustness of your argument, or rather, the utter lack thereof.

But hey, if you are happy that two sisters, a lackey CM with nothing better to do, and a bunch of miscreants are taking the "initiative", then I am perfectly happy for you.

I think we can take up this point if and when then these two tonga initiatives actually achieve something.

One phone call from the White House to IK with an invitation, and he'll come tail a-waggin', with everything forgotten, not just softened.

They all do that, rabidly anti-US in rallies, and bootlickers in the Oval Office.

It’s a possibility. But for now it seems both the PTI and Establishment are a poles apart.

The most likely scenario would be a musical chair between the second generation of PPP (Bilawal) and PMLN (Maryam, Hamza) leaders for the foreseeable future.
