Govt intends to convert 3 imported coal-run power plants to Thar coal

This is so complex rocket science that we couldn't figure it out so we built a plant in punjab/sahiwal

""The plant includes an air quality monitoring system(Flue Gas Desulfurization), and an electrostatic precipitator in order to reduce ash and sulfur emissions from the plant.[12] It requires 60,000 cubic meters of water daily for operation, with water being drawn from the Lower Bari Doab Canal.[12""

Dont just see on spending point of view, Pakistan can generate forex by suppling enough electricity to industry and its tourism sector that suffer lack of electricity in dire condition, this will increase FDI as well than means incoming forex supply

Check how much money to do the conversion as well.....if the electricity supply can meet the demand then conversation can be done by starting from the most expensive type of fuel which is diesel

Industry dont just need Electricity but cheap Electricity and govt direction is right.

Right, but you are in big deficit of electricity now while you guys have impose high tarriff for imported goods even no import policy for certain products are also implemented.

And why it is coal fuel being converted and not replacing diesel based power plan which generate the most expensive electricity compared to coal based power plant which is the cheapest among other type of conventional power plans (gas, diesel)?

There are hardly any diesel based power plants in Pakistan.

It was splendid idea to haul all the coal into middle of punjab from Karachi ..now we are going to get another splendid idea to fix it by hauling low quality coal to punjab
In the end the cost of transportation will be higher then coal value it self

Of course seeing the track record feasibility studies is haram in PMLN era . absolutely haram

You are a jealous frustrated soul.
Central Punjab is already a hub of Industrialization and Chinese first preference as well.

LOL. Pakistan has the most expensive electricity price in the region. All thanks to your successive Patwari governments “solving” energy crisis

I recall they did same with power station once , built a power station with wrong turbine , and then tried to use it with ad-hoc fuel source , in end the turbines were damaged , caused a loss of 50 million to import a new turbine

Same issue with Engines for Railways , due to neglect used "Old" oil in Engines causing brand new engines to clog and fail

Only Patwaris are “intelligent” enough to cheer for “industrialization” far away from the country’s sea ports for export. 🤣

Cheap electricity is Haram absolutely Haram

Making electricity expensive despite 1/3 of your power comes from tarbela-brotha complex free of charge has to be a unique achievement

Agree Pakistani industries don't need electricity they run on patwari coolaid

What was the point of going in the opposite direction to begin with?

Why did Shahbaz decided to open import coal based plan in sahiwal in the first place..if we listen to stupid argument that that coal wasn't available (duh you need to put money into it to make it available) then why was the coastal coal project scrapped with integrated jetty and instead it was decided to haul all the coal in middle of no where??

How could shahabz get it so wrong ..even raja rental did not get it this wrong !!??
