Gratitude Thread: One thing that made you smile about Pakistan today

View attachment 204650

The Pakistani Airforce gave me free bottles during my RIAT visit. What a drink.

If you liked that, there are many more flavors by Gatorade to try:

I have a cousin who's a bit simple. I suspect he's had an undiagnosed learning disability all his life. Whenever I visit Pakistan - when I see the smile on his face, I know there's 1 person who's genuinely happy to see me. His honesty and kindness, the childlike innocence is the most wonderful thing about my trips to Pakistan.

here are some plants name which i have almonds , apples ,mangoes , metha,Banana, amrood Guava ,Dates khajoor yellow wali , peach, jamun ,falsa , keenun , musami lemon cheeku shahtoot, anar , alobukhari its small size ,leechi and lookat and i am missing other's names and its in southern punjab

Is there any fruit which can't be grown in significant amount in Pakistan? As far as I know, there just about all the climate zones present in Pakistan. Cashews may be not grown in Pakistan? But I was in Roatan Island of Honduras and saw cashews trees there and southern Pakistan must have the climate for even cashews.

That's what I thought: Pakistan has the climate for every kind of agriculture produce but wasn't sure about cashews.
PS. Here in America, it is too cold in my region but I bought a couple of Cold Hardy Russian Pomegranate bushes and they have produced small but delicious fruit a couple of times. But forget about mangos or bananas or citrus: Temp has sunk to 4 degrees F here!

The Climate Zones of Pakistan. One can drive from tropical Miami to Arctic Alaska in Pakistan in less than two days!

When I was in Isb/Rwp back in 2024 during summer, enjoyed a lot of FALSA.....ate and made cold sharbat at home, it was expensive but worth it

And the Lemon Soda from the local stalls as well as imli/alu bukhara sharbat when out and about, good times.

And from last year May2025 , AFTER the shooting down of IAF by PAF, man that was a triumph moment, we OSPs could finally hold our head high and be proud to be from a country that defended itself. Was genuinely a proud moment.

I even bought a Pakistan country lanyard for my keys!

As per the great Allah Iqbal:
nahīñ hai nā-umīd 'iqbāl' apnī kisht-e-vīrāñ se
zarā nam ho to ye miTTī bahut zarḳhez hai saaqī

Ahh, Falsa! More childhood memories: Outside my primary school in Karachi way back in the 70s, street vendors would sell Falsa in small paper cups. Those days, the 'Aana' system of currency was used. So 'Aik Aana' or 'Char Aana' for small packets of Falsa, sprinkled with salt. Delicious. And I think it was the PM Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who, in 1976, got rid of the old system of 'Seer' (for weightage) and the 'Aana' way. I recalled didn't want to personally switch to the new system but who was I but a boy! Haha.

A pic from my family home in Karachi from last August. The date tree was full of fruit! And brother is 6 ft, 2 inch--so he was chosen to pluck the fruit!

Man I am desperate to take this flight to Skardu, even though I am scared of domestic Pakistani airlines :( The views on this flight are among the most incredible in the world.
