H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

@AZ_HighCountry

AZ Saar,

There are some people who deserve a good kick in the balls when they make stupid comments.

Agreed. Anyone who suggests that having firearms is a fundamental right, deserves a lot more than a kick in the balls....

@Ali_Baba

H1Bs are now radioactive nuclear waste, and no one wants to touch them anymore,

The Canadian PM begs to differ....

Later on Saturday during a trip to the UK, Carney said Canada is looking at having "a clear offering" for people in the tech sector who would have otherwise been eligible for an H-1B visa.

As do the Germans....

As chaos shrouds the United States' H-1B visa programme following Team Trump's $100,000 fee hike, Germany is seizing the moment to attract Indian professionals. German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, has issued an open call to "highly skilled Indians" to take on the job opportunities in the European nation's IT, management, science and tech sectors.

Oh, Lord, Wells Fargo! Some of my dearest friends were hacked at WF and they just closed that account; they were hacked while on a long cruise to/back from Europe and hacked multiple times. And closing the account wasn't easy as it was some Trust like account.
Thanks for the headsup!!

Large companies have their own HR sites, and use Workday for their recruitment process. I assume you have companies like Wells Fargo, JPMorgan HR sites you go to check?

Linkedin is a fantastic place to find jobs btw. Setup your profile. Set you experience and skills, and set your profile to "seeing a job". Things role in on that feed and you can setup alerts for companies everytime they advertise a job, you get a email from them. eg JP Morgan jobs.

I was forwarded a job advert from JP Morgan on linkedin, and i went to the JPMorgan site to apply directly via that notification. Just to see if someone will pay me more than what i get currrently!

Job Aggregator sites are the worst and there is a lot of false stuff out there.

If I were you, I would call the three credit bureaus and have your SSN locked. This way, no one can apply for credit cards or open online bank accounts, etc. I have done the same, and when you need, you call them to unlock it.

Canada has low salaries and high COL. Same with Germany. Indeed they can attract qualified people with this H1b crackdown but its not going to lead to the next Silicon Valley or Google or Tiktok.

@Watandar

True. But it would give some succour to H1Bs who lose out on the American market (assuming that the H1B crackdown is actually implemented and works)

Indians have already been using the Canada route, while in america they apply for Canada immigration, then if qualified they move there, once they receive citizenship come back to US on TN-visa (its a part of NAFTA).

I have even heard of Indians using Mexico this way except language barrier gets in the way.

The third scam related to a 'Data Analyst' position and I believe they are all interconnected and I also think they are of Indian origin, looking at the language, especially 'kindly' or 'kind' words. The fake domains are slightly modified versions of well known domains such as these:
Telus
Claritev
Brillio

In case of the TryRating site per the email below, there was a temp password and you'd change it upon using the temp password and if you were to choose one of your own preferred passwords as your new password then they would know that password and would target you in multiple ways using that password!

Anyway, here is latest attempt's email:

@Watandar

This development is negative for individual Indian students, but overall, modestly positive for India as a nation.

I want to hear from Germans, Europeans and Canadians whether they are ready to welcome an army of H1-B candidates from India.
