The second problem is every tom dick and harry reporting on Defense these days, adding their own Masala. For example the delay or hold up in 97 additional order, its actually crazy to say this because the deal with HAL has not even been signed yet. So how can anyone say that there is a delay or hold up? Its just news manufacturing.
Given the way Defense matters are communicated in India, and how HAL never sticks to timelines.. such manufactured news is easily gobbled up.
well there are things that are cloaked and there are things that are dicussed the way they are on scial media ... niether is wrongDear Right now nothing is here in hand.
Mark my words, You people learn the benefits of 5th Gen including Stealth in the same way you learn benefit of secure communication and higher range of BVR.
By the way if stealth is that much over-rated then why india is planning AMCA and that too in 2030-40 period? Why not make MK2 to MK3 as the probability of what ever you are saying is much more in that period than now or in near future?
Some Indian fellows has habit of comparing their future goodies with others current goodies. Let them feel secure in this way.
A lot less than Rafale for sure.
well those J10s and F16s or JF17s cant even fly cause therre is no money for fuel with PAF and niether your PA is ready to escalate any further but OK i can understan your furstanion and glee in delay in LCA MK1A diliveriies .... but at least its better be late than begging from one and all .... and one things for sure you guys are really serious about your begging skills
That was for initial batches, as time went by the production was localized heavily. Including the engine production
So no its not just assembling
Negative news sells well in India, and we always go on extremes. Its either we are the best or we are the worst. So when we ourselves aren't balanced, how can we expect outsiders to get it.Initially it was said LCA will be a plane on truck, then its just a overweight, short legged fighter IAF will not induct it, then just like Arjun forced to induct into AF, then will not be put into front line duty, then not more than 40 will be produced, then came no capacity to produce more than 8 jet p.a. now new tag line is hold up of additional order.
Its quite strange that even before knowing facts everyone starts to jump into conclusion.
You just switched goal posts there, the talk was about project management. Even if its assembling kits, there is project management involved with timelines and deliverables. Local production of a platform like SU 30 is not a simple thing, and in the numbers of 250+ at that. No, you cannot comoare making an airplane from scratch like KAAN to just assembling stuff. Hard to take you seriously now, bye
Kaan is still in the prototype stage, while the IAF has already inducted 272 Su-30 MKIs, including 222 produced locally by HAL. India's contributions to the Su-30 MKI include the mission computer/display processor, radar computer, Digital RWR and high-accuracy direction finding module, IFF, integrated communication suite, radar altimeter, and programmable signal processors. These components were all designed and developed in India specifically for the Su-30 MKI.No, you cannot comoare making an airplane from scratch like KAAN to just assembling stuff. Hard to take you seriously now, bye
The U.S firm has been holdings up Tejas for four decades? All that BS about there being a hold up in the next 97 Tejas Mk1A order is called out here in this article from Economic Times, which is much much more reliable than IDRW.
US firm behind delays in Tejas Mk1A deliveries to IAF
well there are things that are cloaked and there are things that are dicussed the way they are on scial media ... niether is wrong
sure due to acute corruption and incompetnce in proqurement lobby of MOD & IAF they are reluctant to buy anything indian made cause they dont get "money/wine & women and foriegn trips/hollydays" and for that they have been making escuses and dragging it for so so long but did they got anything ????
now its now or never for them and they face inemminent enquiries and retierment is couple of years away ...soooo /????
There are two kinds of problems going on in tandem here
One is the delay of engines by GE due to supply chain issues, and GE revised their supply timelines. This actually means we didn't plan for local production when the deal was negotiated with GE, which interestingly was negotiated by Airforce instead of HAL apparently. This delay has pushed the 83 TEJAS Mk1A order delivery schedule further as well. Airforce and HAL used this delay to add some new LRU and update software issues, that needs re-certification (Which is not a bad thing). It however shows improper planning while negotiating for the engine on our part, which they seem to have worked on during F-414 at least.
Amid delays, HAL now aiming to deliver first LCA Mark 1A by August 15; GE engine supplies to start by September
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited strives to deliver the first LCA Mark 1A fighter jet to the Indian Air Force by August 15. not really its more IAF top honchos to be blamedThe U.S firm has been holdings up Tejas for four decades?
well they had more than a couple of prototyps/models back in 2007-9 which were rejcted by IAF then they went back to drwaing board and by 2011 came back yet again with couple of new designs one of which is almpost identical to what they have flying with a south east asian nation recently .... indian engineers just dont migrate to US or UK ... cheers mateYou are right in your mentioned point of view. I agree with you in that. But My initial point still exist keeping imported / local manufacturing thing aside. Stealth and other 5th Gen Feature has it's benefits which are huge and these can be work to managed but it's foolishness to think they are useless.
not really its more IAF top honchos to be blamed
why dint they inducted LCA way back in 2007 when it had met first set of initial requirments in a small batch/squad or two and then tested and then upgrated and re examined and put further upgrades in second trench so by now they could have had more than 100 LCA of various trnches and types and levels
but IAF chose that IOC and then FOC and wanted onboard unified EW suite to qudrapell Digital fly by wire to rlaxed static capbility and other things like best FRC and all kinds of godies with decent payload capacity and combat range in such a small plane and all that was achived in less than 2.2 billion US dollars from first flight in 2001 january till making 7 testbeds till IOC/FOC and 40 IAF copies with all money spend on engines from USA to avionics and radars and weapons from israel and UK & france and money spend on making of all those test facilities and design labs and manufacturing facilities in india and training and salaries of those thousands of emplyess of HAL/ADA/ARDE & DRDO for that ecosystem all well within2.2 billion US dollars is that bad ??????
