Hangor Class Submarine | Updates & Discussion

Yep the Hangor and Agosta 90B upgrades were relatively public, but if you notice with the Hangor program, what we know is largely tied to the PN announcing big milestones.

But as you noticed, they've been very quiet about the SWATS. They said those will come, but we have no clear idea of which OEM won, when they'll come, how many, etc.
PN is top notch among all services to maintain a very high level of security/secrecy. They have made some very good progress in certain areas that are if not better then equivalent to what PAF termed new dimensions. I was disappointed when blue ocean navy turned around 180% to hide in the port or we would have witnessed making of some new artificial reefs in the Pakistani/Arabian Sea and it would have been impossible for P*jeets to hide the burning /sinking aircraft carriers with thousands onboard drowning to bottom

artificial reefs in Arabian sea ?

He meant Shipwrecks. They are great for creating artificial reefs and marine life habitat

Thanks to china for handed over the third Hangor-class submarine to Pakistan... On we'll needed time

Correction: The submarine has not been handed over, it has only been launched. It will undergo the following phases before induction into active service or formal handover:
  1. Phase 1: Construction
  2. Phase 2: Launch
  3. Phase 3: Fitting out
  4. Phase 4: Sea trials
  5. Phase 5: Acceptance trials
  6. Phase 6: Induction into the fleet / Handover for active duty
As of now, none of the Hangor-class subs have been handed over.
  • The first sub (Hangor) is currently in Phase 5.
  • The second sub (Shushuk) is in Phase 4.
  • The third sub (Mangro) has recently completed Phase 2 and is now in Phase 3.

If i am correct SMASH is more like a Ballistic/Rocket sorta missile, but i could be wrong i have paid much attention, but if we do have baburs with 750km, why can't they be integrated into these new Subs? like I said, we did the test long long time ago, there has to be some progress made, even if we moved at India's tejas pace.

What's the difference between launching, commissioning and inducting?

I am assuming active service starts at induction or are there further steps before that happens?

Launch = Transfer from land to water (the hull is ready, some internal auxilary systems may not be fully installed like radars, guns, missiles, etc.)

Induction = part of the force but staff is still being trained on the new systems, not in active service

Commissioning = the ship and staff are fully ready for active service
