Hangor Class Submarine | Updates & Discussion

Correction: The submarine has not been handed over, it has only been launched. It will undergo the following phases before induction into active service or formal handover:
  1. Phase 1: Construction
  2. Phase 2: Launch
  3. Phase 3: Fitting out
  4. Phase 4: Sea trials
  5. Phase 5: Acceptance trials
  6. Phase 6: Induction into the fleet / Handover for active duty
As of now, none of the Hangor-class subs have been handed over.
  • The first sub (Hangor) is currently in Phase 5.
  • The second sub (Shushuk) is in Phase 4.
  • The third sub (Mangro) has recently completed Phase 2 and is now in Phase 3.
  • Phase 6: Induction into the fleet for crew familiarization/training
  • Phase 7: Commissioning = ready for active service

Will they be able to launch LACM like Babur? we did test of babur from under-water long time ago, any progress made on that? @Quwa
It should be able to launch Babur-III. However, only a handful of Babur-III tests have been reported. More testing would probably come with the first Hangoor.

IMO

PN will end up producing yj18e's in pak and could perhaps use them as the next srep up from babur

THere are more than 90% chances that Chinese supersonic solution will come alongside Hangor Class

Looking at the launch pictures of PNS Mangro, i wouldn't say it is in Fitting Out stage as the whole hull is complete so where will you get all the equipment inside it from?

Only minor systems would be left to be installed. More like powering up, checking all the piping and running of systems would be ongoing from now on.....

Which would make sense, I mean we heard about the test from underwater and then silence, no follow up nothing.. so what was the point ? maybe they were waiting for the new subs which is this one Hangor to be operationalize to integrate the Babur or get some Chinese option, I would definitely love to see a Sub carrying 8-10 Baburs with 1000Km.

SMASH looks very promising, both speed and accuracy. Our offensive standard weapon should be high speed like they have Brahmos. Smash needs much larger production runs to standardize it across all 3 branches of Pak military.

after these subs are operational...IMO the next thing should be either an SSBN or a diesel electric submarine but with vls like the south korean subs which are able to launch hyunmoo ballistic missiles....

SMASH is inherently a ballistic missile 🤷‍♂️

Ormara sub pen can accommodate 12 submarines of SSBN class inside the mountains… u can imagine how the warfare of indian ocean will change soon.
Where are these sub pens located in Ormara??
