Hints about NEW PAF Acquisitions from AVM (R) Arshad Malik

PLAAF and PLAN can already do that as it is one of their two premier assets.
PAF won't carry any institutional bias in her assessment , not saying that Chinese institutions are not capable of unbiased assessment however it's better to have an outsider assessment.

or PAF could be shared initial batch of 4-6 J35A to help identify improvements and then a final version for PAF could be created few years later. That was the case with F7p that becomes F7MP with bought in numbers, Z10 is another example.
China tests the J-35's capabilities by going up against the mature J-20, and it also tests its system combat capabilities and electronic warfare abilities together with the KJ-500 and KJ-2000. By confronting the F-22 in the East China Sea and the F-35 in the Sea of Japan, it tests the J-35's ability to go up against fifth-generation fighters under near-combat conditions. After all that, it still needs Pakistan's help to improve it, really?

PAF does not operate any 5th gen platform yet. They would need to learn and develop concept of operations, techniques, tactics and procedures to fully exploit the primary and classified capabilities of 5th gen platform. (5th gen warfare is substantially different due to the nature of sensor fusion and networking it brings. No 4th gen fighters has those) That would take at minimum 5/6 years and would require at least a squadron of 12/16 jets. (4/6 won't be sufficient) After that you might be in a situation where you can assess what capability upgrade it needs to make it more effective. PLAAF already has nearly a decade of experience operating 5th gen platform with J-20. Running hundreds of simulation and real world wargaming exercises with so many different assets and types of networking.

As of now PLAAF is best suited for such job.

Fifth generation aircraft is just an aircraft not some problematic theorem ..we are too awestruck by it .

Fifth generation aircraft is just an aircraft not some problematic theorem ..

Who says it is a problematic theorem. It is however, everything that a 4.5th fighter is not.

J-10CE doesn't have real time high bandwidth directional ECM resistant LPI data link. It doesn't have a sensor fusion engine like that on J20/J35.

Combinations of these two allow integrated processor to fuse data not only from the sensors on the aircraft itself, (AESA, EW, EOTS, DAS) but also from sensors of other 5th gen platforms on the same network in real time.

This level of fusion is simply not in capacity of existing 4th gen fighters. It allows real time collaborative engage and passive targeting, it allows EW suites on several platforms to act as one both offensively and defensively.

Add to that advantage of Stealth.

No brainer it requires new CONOPS, techniques, tactics and procedures to be developed.

That's without even discussing the MUM-T that are increasingly becoming a part of 5th gen warfare.

Yaar, that guy says something new everyday.

The best thing to happen to him was last year's PAK-IND Conflict. He is literally on 3-4 different TV Channels a week.

Wo din aur aaj - wo uus shaqkhs apni dukaan khol baitha hai.

Now this Arshad Malik is thinking that he needs to cash-in on the action too.
Kaiser Tufail marketed the same way....he revealed Swift Retort openly on his blog before any official acknowledgement was given. Some of these retirees just like the attention.

Point well taken and valid, however, with Kaiser Tufail it was a 1-time thing. It's not as if he was on different Channels everyday.

I think I've only seen him on one English/British or American YouTube Channel where he spoke about his career and his time on the Viper.

On the other end of the Rainbow you got this Christi guy (oh & let's not forget - his son). I just can't stand either of 'em.

KT, Chishti and AM. These guys may need to tone it down here and there, but overall great guys. Call me biased, but they've all had positive vibes in my life when I was growing up.

Chishti's son though, keeps reusing Viper (my colleague had setup the GoPros in the Viper footage) and Thunder footage with new clickbait titles every couple of days. This guy needs a new direction or needs to stop it with the videos.

Overall with these retirees, their intentions maybe positive but their connection strands are for media purposes which largely remain at times being intrusive, inspiring towards showing off in a way.

I'd rather have them in a capacity to contribute towards PAF in a technical capacity or something similar.

An example would be someone (retired PAF pilot, not even from F-16s) who was involved in bringing out the first set of flight simulators for the PAF F-16 fleet—which were not even planned for in the original aircraft acquisition programs—and that eventually turned out to be so successful in enhancing training for that select cadre of student pilots.

I've got tons of footage from various Viper Squadrons (including #29 Aggressors), but you don't see me going out & using them in my videos as clickbait.

I truly can't stand that...person.

As for those retirees... For them its like the famous quote from Jerry Maguire...

Isn't part of the problem that these people retire very young in Pakistan? And, they are still capable and can still contribute?

The lack of private industry where they can go to, or the lack of think tanks that they can contribute means they end up on the show circuit i guess.

Not sure how retirement works in Pakistan, if there is a lump sum they are paid at the end, or if they get monthly retirement payments etc ? Do these payments kick in after their retirement date, or do they need to wait ?

They reach retirement age that is called superannuation, I think it's still 60. Then their monthly pension payments kick in and continue for the rest of their life. They also continue to have access to subsidized education , healthcare, recreation.

Some of them like retired officers of Colonel level or above get plots at retirement.

You are correct that many of them retire rather youngish, like early 60's and then are still capable but bored for the next 20-25 years. Many of them return to working in some private capacity after 6-12 months of retirement.
