  • How effective this ship is against modern warfare ... I highly doubt if it can stand up to any onslaught from IN. In my opinion, this ship is as good as OPV's PN operates
  • If the mothballed Ukrainian Navy after being nearly wiped out by mid-2022 could recover and wrest control of the South West Black Sea from the mighty Russian Black Sea fleet then the Pakistan Navy can perform much better.
  • Also if the outmatched Argentinian Navy could sink six Royal Navy warships ( and sunk more if the French hadn't stopped deliveries of Exocet missiles) then the Pakistani Navy has a fighting chance against the Indian Navy.
  • If the Houthis with NO navy can sink NATO backed ships in the Red Sea then the Pakistan Navy has a fighting chance against the Indian Navy
Pakistan is far more realistic than it's adversary.
A 1971 era joke .. well not a joke because this actually happened.
December 16th 1971: The Civil War in East Pakistan had ended but the war on the Western front continued to rage. When US President Nixon announced the deployment the US 7th Fleet to the Bay of Bengal, Indian Naval Chief Admiral Nanda addressing a press conference on the likely hood of a showdown with the US Navy said :
"Gentlemen, I believe the US Navy ships are dry. When we meet the US 7th fleet we will invite the US officers aboard our ships for a drink "
The Indian Defence Minister Jagjeevan Ram wasn't amused. When he was asked how his navy would tackle the nuclear carrier Enterprise led Task Force he retorted in Hindi:
"Agar unke paas Enterprise hai to hamare paas bhi Vikrant hai "
( Translation: "If they have the Enterprise then we have the Vikrant " )
Comparing the diesel engine pocket aircraft carrier Indian Navy Vikrant with its handful of propeller driven Alize aircraft, sub-sonic Sea Hawks to the nuclear power powered USS Enterprise carrying 90 combat Jet Aircraft, F-4B Phantom Iis A-4 Skyhawks, Vigilante backed by E2C-Hawkeye EW aircraft by a cabinet ranking Minister of Defence was a bar stand-up comedy.
Regardless of the Indian Defence Minister's bluster the Indian Navy didn't challenge Task Force 17 which briefly remained in the Bay of Bengal, and then moved to the Arabian Sea where it was joined by a small British task force from Diego Garcia. Under the threat of military intervention the UN Resolution on the ceasefire was enforced, and India accepted it, unilaterally stopping hostilities on the Western front. Pakistan Administered Azad Kashmir has remained with Pakistan since. All because the Indian Navy chose not to fight the US Navy.

Realistically yes, but if they can close the distance those 8 Harpoons can do a lot of damage

Actually they could have sunk way more British warships if only they had timed the fuses of their bombs right, if they had the British would have perhaps lost 7 more warships and 4 RFA vessels.
