Lingamites want “Cold Start” and they might end up with Pakistani “Hot Rod” shoved in where sun never shines.

Yes, in a proper conventional war mass mobilisation still has it's uses but a blitzkrieg type attack in this day and age of reconnaissance is not possible. Assembling 500k men would obviously create enough friction and counter deployment on the order side but the question is then what. The attacking side will have way more casualties. Indo-Pak armies are more suited to defence than offence.Prior to the missile and air power domination world, this was, on paper, a very effective plan. Without intel and sat coverage, would have been hard to predict the armoured thrust. Pak's response of repost was I guess the only way to counter it rather then try and take it head on
I think it draws inspiration from Sunderji doctrine and the exercise Brass-Tacks he conducted, but in itself CSD is a relatively newer thing, with added inspiration from German Blitzkrieg. Whatever the case, there are flaws in the plan.cold start is the concept of indian general Sunderji written in 1986-87 if I am not a wrong.
It seems you have read Ravi Rikhye book.I think it draws inspiration from Sunderji doctrine and the exercise Brass-Tacks he conducted, but in itself CSD is a relatively newer thing, with added inspiration from German Blitzkrieg. Whatever the case, there are logistical flaws in the plan.
First, by the time India mass mobilizes its forces, Pakistani forces would already be deployed, rested, and open to preemptive strike. This because the distance of barracks from the borders in the two countries.
Second, IAF has not been taken onboard on CSD and has been unwilling to play "secondary support role." We haven't seen a full scale exercise by IAF for CSD operationalising.
Third, Blitzkrieg style operation requires swift/rapid movement/maneuvers by the armored vehicles, especially tanks. The open field/sectors for tank movement/maneuvers and battles on Pakistani side are quite limited. If they (IA) succeed in traversing the border area they'll quickly be stuck in movement/maneuver restricting urban jungles and likely cutoff from logistical support with a broken rear.
Fourth, what India perceives as "below nuclear threshold" is perceived as "nuclear threshold" by Pakistan. Nasr was designed specifically for this.
In the end, I think its just muscle flexing by GoI to appease domestics. Timing of this, however, cannot be more wrong though.
Nice dream scenarioThis exercise is about testing drone warfare both in air defense and sead missions
The days of India moving troops in bulk and launching aircraft to cross line of control is over
Operation Sindoor showcased how India will fight war
Stand off ranges with drones and cruise missle strike well within Indian airspace with multi layered air defense five tiers to retain air space supremacy over Indian sky's
In short every inch of Pakistani military industrial complex is targeted successfully with out leaving India .
Nice dream scenario![]()
Here we go again. Going delusionalDo want me to show the range of scalp or brahmos air launched versis the max width of Pakistan

I've got my eyes
These theatrical exercises do not matter anymore. Indian army incompetence against 10x times smaller budget army has been exposed to the world.
Thank Modi election campaign for Pakistan geopolitical rise.
Now budget gap will get closer as Pakistan sign defence pacts with GCC.
No. I studied CSD when it was a "thing." Was part of my job. Now its just a purana dhool. To be frank I expect the current Indian government to beat this dhool as it passes hubris for strategic vision. A more calculated and farsighted leader like Vajpayee or Manmohan Singh probably wouldn't waste a rupee on an exercise that is a non-starter.It seems you have read Ravi Rikhye book.![]()
