India to develop with France engine for desi stealth fighter

Pakistan should develop its own turbofan, but this won't materialize for several decades at any level. Moreover, it's not the need of the hour compared to one other type of engine, but it should be started nonetheless.
is there any need?

IMO, the chances for a fully pak fighter are nil.

as you said, focus on the smaller ones, particularly like aseem said a turbofan for cruise missiles to get those amazing ranges, can even become an exporter tbh like cz

Only in a very abstract sense, as in, if one day we want to fully control the fighter ecosystem from end-to-end. It's not a bad goal to have as it elevates all of the expectations, but it's a very high standard to reach. I am all for it for the sake of general advancement and then benefitting from it.

Like, one day, I would love for Pakistan to build its own 4-engine unmanned bomber using its own indigenous 90 kN-class turbofan. It's just one of those "yeah, we did it, screw you" sort of goals that a nation should aspire towards, but it isn't happening anytime soon even if we sincerely started now.

But from an immediate military need, the focus should be on miniature turbojet and turbofans for cruise missiles and UCAVs, respectively.

This project, like Arjun, Tejas before it, will provide PDF with years of fun and content. Decades actually....

2035 Headline "DRDO blames Safran for lack of air conditioning in it's factories leading to engine manufacturing delays"
not to forget, the martian tech "Kaveri"

That Brah in Brahmos refers to Brahamaputra currently being dammed by China? This is some ingenious marketing technique to name it on a soon to be extinct river blurring the lines between myth and reality.

RIP Pluviology & QPF!

I won't hold my breath. Indian track record on such collaborations with west is abysmal. We will have a functional 4th Gen engine by 2060.. if lucky.

Well, i am quite happy about our offensive capabilities, actually very proud of the fact that many of your forward airbases were hit and none of ours got hit.
To be very clear, India achieved its target of neutralizing PAF on ground. PAF did well in Air but then, how many PL-15s can you spray?

No Indian bases got hit?

You want to stand by this statement? Weird hill to die on considering the contradicatory evidence we have all seen and by your own official statements, but guess credibility is not something you may have had in the first place.

Why dont you just post some pre and post images like we did, i believe you have seen pre and post of many of your air bases. I dont deny your Air tactics, they were good, but when it comes to land attack, na na.

So the statements by your defence officials. Lies right?

@mods The constant shit posting on here now is delusional.

Probably, but will take years, and Safran are focusing on the FCAS engine. Unsure if they are just going to fob India off with M88 tech (that is a very good engine it it's own right)
Even if something goes through it will be just money that will be milked from India.

Dead bodies of airfield personnel don't count whereas a single pane of broken glass does I suppose.

Our response to the indians in air was fantastic...but that airfield part was not that great..india used its top of the line cruise missiles,ALBM( a lot of them) and what not but we gave the response by small numbers of fatah 1 mlrs and cm400akg(only for the s400 battery)...so seeing the amount of weapons used by india in the attacks equals to sum damges but there were a lot of interceptions....the rafiqui attack failed.....india faced humiliation in the air battle and then faced this humiliation again after claiming that it shot down our jets after 3 months...lol

One more reason for US to approve PAF F16s upgrade to V. And if approved along side with AIM120Ds or even C7s, it will boast PAF capabilities enormously. Along with PL15s, IAF will have severe headache to tackle PAF BVR capability for which they will have no answer to it even with Rafale's meteors.

You basically described 95% of Indian defence news in a nutshell.
Honestly, I keep saying this, India is clinging on and hyphenating itself to pakistan as soon as it becomes difficult to face the big wide world

I think it's generally very very smart that there isn't really too much diplomatic noise indulging India
