My intentions are pure! You can visit SSC when you are not doing PDF! You can learn so much about India that no "youtuber" or PDF member can teach.

I have actually commented on Pakistani development, in fact I don't think my comments were enthusiastically received.

The problem is, to some non negligible extent, the economies of South Asia have their destinies intertwined, because the whole world has regional connectivity and commerce. Except South Asia.

Is it not absurd to focus on the developments that affect no more than 10% of the population, and then harass any other viewpoint which says hang on what about the rest?

The human development improving was just recovering post covid, that is to say it's highly elastic from that perspective and not deep or robust

I won't even mention the poverty, you might consider that trolling, however what about pollution and air quality as well as efficient water management, for a growing population. If water scarcity worries become more Sharp, then where will you seek to obtain water sources from?

Remembering that all of South Asia will be subject to climate change, there is no regional infrastructure or any possibility for it, so you have mushrooming populations, dwindling resources, and no cooperation to address these. Your defense minister recently spoke about water in Sindh, let's not forget post operation tandoor all the talk was depriving Pakistan of water.

What "precise" development of Indian government has made 10% richer, prey tell? Ignorance is always a dangerous thing. You can tell best lies around "data".

Yes, India is poor. Very poor. PCI not even 3K yet. Air pollution is off the chart.

1) India has no shortage of water. It lacks water management. We are working on it.
2) Population will stabilize by 2050 and start reducing after that.
3) What "income" data doesn't tell you is the scale of social programs in India. Indian government doles out insane amount of money throught MNREGA, free housing, free healthcare, education, free meals in school, various farm loan waivers, MSP etc..Hence the reason for increasing HDI.
4) Income inequality is there but those earning most are also paying any real taxes. Only 1.5% pay income tax in India. Same people get zero QOL for taxes they pay.

I can go on and on. We have discussed this plenty. India is a project under construction.

But please, learn more. Don't be selective. Trolling is exactly that.

Most of your economic data prioritizes expenditure over income. This gives a generous perspective on the gini, do you really think the gap has decreased between rich and poor?

I did! I am glad you highlighted our challenges and yet, India is ahead of Pakistan in many of of these parameters or equal . I don't understand your point. Are countries of similar HDI and PCI as India doing better than India? Otherwise I don't see your point. Weird that you hold such high expectations from India! Ofcourse India was behind Pakistan for most of it's history and it takes a while for a trend to take hold. All those parameters should improve as years go by. I look at the trend and not the snapshot. 60 years of misrule can't be swept away.

It's actually a regional challenge, in reality, especially for water

Remember after operation tandoor the talk was drying Pakistan out. Incidentally it looks like within a decade or two India may well be having water problems

So if only India was doing much much better in water resource utilization, the region would be more at ease

And not to insult your intelligence, but water is an important factor endowment for any economic growth consideration, especially a country with so much agriculture .

Finally if you do not believe me, Moody's is already giving the heads up

Answer the questions my man - provide statistics. Don't confuse weakness in INR vs. USD with the tariff discussion... Exchange rate matters but it actually a counter to falling imports i.e., if INR weakens, companies find it more beneficial to outsource

Not withstanding that you are pink, on a humble intellectual level, what's the obsession with GDP?

When your per capita income, notionally, is still what it is, what's the value in saying you are for example surpassing Japan, when more Indians are going to Japan for work, than Japanese to India.

LOL... macro metrics are determinants of long-term stability. There have been countless threads where I have mentioned that India's GDP per capita is not much better than Pakistan or Bangladesh (although % wise it is but still we can do more).

Larger point is on any measurable changes to macro metrics (GDP, employment rates etc.). Pakistani members here will make real hard efforts to ignore the reality and jump on straw man arguments.

As for my "pink" status, I am an Indian, posting on Pakistani forum - don't expect anything else. Most forum moderators are sane but every once in a while you come across an egoistic moderator having a bad day and get "pinked" - happens to all of us.

GDP is far from being a determinant of long-term stability.
What do you even mean by long term stability?

There is already a debate on the strength of India's GDP figures given the old data used and the questionable application of methodology on informal economy. It's a point in time calculation.
Yes of course the upward trend is only very good news, and you are of course entitled to make of this what you want, but the more defensive you are do any slight questioning just makes your position weak

If we are looking at stability, it might be useful to look at the following:

1. The growth and volatility in GDP
2. CAD position- is the CAD, if any, getting more or less balanced by FII/FDI, with the result that the Forex Debt/GDP remaining stable.
3. BOP- Are they consistently adequate to cover at least 6 months imports.
4. Fiscal deficit/Govt debt- Is the govt debt to GDP remaining more or less stable across years?
