Already our Brahmos arsenal is scary big..... this additional order is a great news.....Big deal for 2 more Brahmos regiments for the IA and an unknown number for the IAF coming up..around 250 Brahmos missiles may be ordered.
Indian Army, IAF eye Rs 20,000 crore Brahmos deal in key DAC meeting tomorrow
Bro, this BrahMos test on November 2020 was crazy! The missile was fired in top-attack mode, meaning it came down vertically at a 90-degree angle and smashed the target.Already our Brahmos arsenal is scary big..... this additional order is a great news.....
Now we just have to wait for this beast to achieve 1500 kms range....Bro, this BrahMos test on November 2020 was crazy! The missile was fired in top-attack mode, meaning it came down vertically at a 90-degree angle and smashed the target.
What’s even cooler this time it had three waypoints, so it followed a more complex path to avoid obstacles. And it was also flying at 1 km per second while doing all this! That makes it extremely hard for enemy air defenses to stop it.
Usually, this kind of maneuvering is something subsonic cruise missiles like the Tomahawk do. But BrahMos, being supersonic, doing the same thing is just insane! Plus, with its 1-meter accuracy, it can hit targets behind mountains, even on reverse slopes.
This is a totally new way to use a supersonic cruise missile in mountain warfare, and it makes BrahMos even deadlier!
Long-range missiles are fine, but without top-tier C4ISR, hitting mobile targets at those distances is easier said than done. That's exactly why I don't buy it when China claims they can reliably target USN carrier strike groups from thousands of kilometers away. Hitting a moving target at that range isn't just about having the missile it’s about having the real-time tracking and targeting to back it up.Now we just have to wait for this beast to achieve 1500 kms range....

China now already had enough satellite system plus it's own GPS alternate so yes they can do it and will improve further by every passing yearLong-range missiles are fine, but without top-tier C4ISR, hitting mobile targets at those distances is easier said than done. Satellites aren’t great for real-time tracking of moving targets like ships. They have limitations: revisit time, latency, and weather interference. That’s why navies rely more on maritime patrol aircraft like the P-8I, drones, over-the-horizon radars, and ELINT/SIGINT systems for actual real-time tracking. Satellites are good for strategic surveillance, but if you want to hit a moving ship, you need something much more responsive.China now already had enough satellite system plus it's own GPS alternate so yes they can do it and will improve further by every passing year
