Indian Politics and Internal News

Seattle’s controversial socialist activist and former city council member Kshama Sawant has been denied an Indian visa for the third time, allegedly due to her vocal criticism of the Modi government. Sawant, known for spearheading Seattle’s caste discrimination ban, attempted to visit her ailing mother but was rejected by Indian authorities, who provided no official reason.

Her supporters staged a sit-in at the Indian Consulate in Seattle, leading to law enforcement intervention. Sawant claims she’s on a government "reject list" due to her political activism, but India’s refusal to grant her entry underscores a broader reality—actions have consequences.

In a world where progressive activists push radical policies unchecked in cities like Seattle, foreign governments are less inclined to tolerate such rhetoric.

This serves as a stark reminder that outside of liberal strongholds, sovereignty and national interests take precedence over ideological grandstanding.

Lot of problems with what you said:

1) In this world, one cannot simply move to where one desire. If it was that easy and countries had open borders, 800 million indians living on $2 a day would move out.

2) Her family is not responsible for her actions

3) Critisizing a country and its govt doesnt mean one should be thrown out.

I thought these points were obvious but you might have had too much cow cola.

Nothing wrong
Critisizing a country and its govt doesnt mean one should be thrown out.
No harm in criticism if it directed towards the govt, there is an issue in the other option

Just a display of meanspiritedness.

Visa is not a right it’s a privilege!

About time people learn that their actions have consequences.

The reason why visas are denied are also important. Actions against a political party should not have consequences; actions against a social evil should not have consequences.

Those who say that these actions should have consequences betray their regressive social outlook.

Actions of an American councilwomen interfering in internal law n order of the country bound to have some minor repercussions.

Her involvement in Anti CAA protests or Farmers “agitations” are not targeted against social outlook but Anti state activities for which an entry in the reject list is well justified.

When you lie through your teeth about what CAA or NRC does, you get your arse handed to you. Communists need to stop crying. Elections have consequences. I am more appalled by her horribly fake accent.
