Its only a clip for 15-to 20sec, but it should pretty much end the conversation about this bloody engine. It ain't powering jack-sh!t & that is coming from one of your (Indias') most prominent "defence analyst".

Well that settles THAT...

I genuinely feel sorry for @Kaveri Engine . The man created a (new) account & named it after one of their great failures. Good to see the tradition & legacy in the same boat.

If you have actual test data showing that the Kaveri requires rebuilding every 20 flight hours, present it.

The Kaveri dry engine has logged roughly 70 hours of ground testing at the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) facility in Bengaluru and approximately 75 hours of altitude and in-flight trials using an Ilyushin Il-76 flying testbed at the Gromov Flight Research Institute and CIAM in Russia
Amazing, stick it in the Tejas it was meant for 20 years ago.

Bro..., in that video (above), their very own defence analyst just refered to 'em as "Loonies" on twitter.

That outta...pretty much end the conversation on this Project.

But if the Indian Members wanna go on - well...

...that's probably the reason why current projects are where they are.

If anyone wants to know about the Tejas & AMCA..., just watch the 30mins of the video above & it'll give you an idea where they actually stand.

It shall be good enough for one way kamikaze missions though not good enough on cost analysis basis .
The Kaveri Dry Engine is being developed to power the 15-tonne stealth drone, the GHATAK UCAV. It could also be adapted for other applications, such as transport aircraft and stealth bombers, but definitely not kamikaze drones.

The engine is simply too large for such applications and, like any turbofan engine, would be considerably more expensive. India has already developed much smaller and cheaper turbojet engines specifically for missiles and kamikaze drones.

India has an entire family of indigenously developed engines for missiles and kamikaze drones

Bingo , you successfully refuted my claim.

No country uses turbofan engines designed for fighter jets in kamikaze drones. These engines are much larger than the kamikaze drones themselves and far too expensive to justify their use in one-way missions.

Listen to credible defence analysts like Ravi Kumar Gupta, a former DRDO scientist. Abhijit Iyer-Mitra, holds a degree in Hotel Management. He is not a defence analyst.
