Indus Water Treaty: Discussion, News & Updates

Good, you finally understand this basic point...

First, where exactly is this "3.3 MAF tunnel capacity” coming from? ... There is no publicly verified design discharge or even confirmed tunnel specification to justify turning it into precise MAF claims...

Everything after that is assumption stacked on assumption...

Second, converting any annual number into neat monthly extraction ignores basic hydrology....glacial rivers are highly seasonal, not evenly divisible flows...

Third, "desilting basin solves it" isn’t a switch you turn on... sediment loads are variable and operational limits still cap continuous diversion...

In short, it’s not engineering reality, just stacked assumptions presented as precision...

That’s not hydrology, it’s spreadsheet logic imposed on a chaotic river system.
My bad.
I meant Chenab's peak monsoon flow is 3.3 MAF for those 4 months (at that tunnel point), off which 1.1MAF (tunnels capacity) can ideally be pulled out. Which would be ~0.9 MAF with desilting losses.

I am not converting annual cusec figures. I am converting specific months's cusec figures in MAF for that particular 4 months season.

Funny how "international law" suddenly becomes sacred only when it suits Pakistan. It's amusing that you are fixated on semantics while ignoring decades of bad faith petty conduct of your country for obvious reason that made the current situation inevitable. International agreements presume reciprocal good faith, not one party exploiting every loophole while expecting perpetual concessions from the other. If Pakistan wanted the benefits of the treaty indefinitely, it should have honored the broader conditions that make such cooperation possible. In real world fortunately actions have consequences.
Yes exactly India would lose half of its poplulation and entire indus infrastructure to just block Pakistan water and half of india would be radiation zone. Every action has consequences and it has reaction as well.

"Bad faith", "broader conditions" blah blah. You broke the treaty or you didn't. Do you know what a treaty even is?

We cannot take revenge for something you imagine, it's been over a year now you guys have been claiming victory without showing any meaning full damage on Indian side. India has shown satellite images and videos to back most of their claims and damage on Pakistani side. 9 terrorist locations and 11 military installations or bases.

As for Indus water treaty, it's not the same anymore. With the capability to store or to divert partially increases over Time , Pakistan will receive less water accordingly, it's a long process and it will be gradual , you will not even realise it and will get used to less water.

Oh please do keep quiet. You and every other Indian choose to shut your eyes and ears to any evidence whilst the world laughs at you now as they did back then.

Massive damage at Udhampur airbase.

Your jets were lying all over your Northern landmass and hilariously your stupid bots turned it into a meme i.e. "it's on social media sir". That's because your military was hiding the losses as best it could, even arresting people going near the crash sites! Whilst reporters quizzed your higher ups asking about the numerous evidence on open sources they ignored it, and simply said "losses happen".

They can do ai check 1000s time or hiring experts like John snow on ndtv to tell that it is fake.
They are so dumb that in hate of Pakistan they are voliating international law by breaching treaty, open threaten by saying no single drop of water which violates alone 4 to 6 laws international. No country in the world would argue in next to 5 to 10 years why Pakistan blasted the hell out of indus water illegal projects.

Treaty don't mean $hit now now and Pakistanis need to wake up to that.
Work with China to screw India over on water, that's happening now. No point in talking to Indian bots about this.

In my point of view, any of these projects are in radious of 400 km which very much in reach of small missiles of Pakistan. Moreover, why India want Pakistan to suffer and than expect that Pakistan just should sit around and accept the faith India has decide i mean are they this much dumb they do not expect any kind of reaction or action from 250 million population and a nuclear country. Let alone nuclear without it even no country would accept this faith. I mean they are violating several international laws than they are thinking that would sympathise with india in future they block other country water to purposely hurt normal people. By trying destroy Pakistan they also destroy half of India with it nuclear or no nuclear as border is next and not even a travelling distance.

India media has really fed hate so much that they think they would treat Pakistan like gaga, daily missile strike in Pakistan and kill children and women. Even 3 layer shield could not defend Israel and UAE than how would india would able defend its self from Pakistan where it will only be matter of survival.

Still they are voliating 6 international law and treaty is legally binding not like something they do them self and throw in the dustbin. Otherwise, there is no agreement in any part of the world. It is a law and international law. @Fatman17 posted an article on that and author explained that indus water treaty is a biding and cannot be breach as there is no scope of suspension or ending the agreement which gives Pakistan legal reason to strike india indus infrastructure.

Pakistan knew one fine day India would brech indus water that is why Pakistan has invested in nuclear so that if Pakistan goes down than it ensure it takes india down with it.

We need to build more dams, medium to smaller dams including. Pakistan has plenty of rain during mansoon and we never store this, the glaziers melt and we never store it.

True but Hindutva India doesnt believe in any treaty or principles, they want to harm Pakistan with all means necessary, including starving Pakistan from water which can lead to genocide. We have no choice but to build more dams, and if that doesnt work and we are harmed then a big war is needed, either to win it all or loose.

There is no alternative of indus as it is 140 maf. You cannot deal anything via talk if country has decided that it wants another country to not exist or not survive or suffer deeply and deeply suffer it civilian. China max can stop 30 maf that won't help Pakistan. It is a blessing that Pakistan has no barrier to Indian border and we have nuclear otherwise india would have done far worse than what Israel had done to Gaza.

This either die or win. But I am 1000% sure our nukes and military assets would take half of india with us.

@Waz remember in 5 to 10 years you will understand that why I point that Pakistan and India border are connected and it is not even a striking distance.

We definitely need more dams, but also to manage the water that comes through better. Implementation of drip irrigation, as well as water reservoirs and overflow channels to hold flood waters the years they come.

Furthermore, we need to build economic leverage with friendly GCC countries, to have economic means to have consequences for India. We should also look at products traded with India via ports such as Dubai, and look to ways to ending that trade (so Indian traders will want to lobby their government to maintain relations with Pakistan).

No alternative will help and only war can help Pakistan. It is not like Pakistan won't suffer and it will massively but also India and far more than us its entire economy is build on fdi. India 1000% would never want to go with full on war with Pakistan as they know they are next to our border and there is no distance.

There public will also learn there lesson that by stopping or harming others country and It's people they got a treat of a life to directly taste nukes.
