Pakistan and Bangladesh get water share as certain percentage of total water. So instead of cheering for China they should wish that China doesn't stop any flow, Otherwise the rundown country at the extreme end will pay most heavily.

well more than 80% of water for bhramputra is made in indian state of arunachal pradesh which china calls its part but we are not like pakistan that gifts akasi chin for so called friendship ... let them try if they think they are smart we also know how to trun the taps dry for them ... cheers mate

Erm, erm, we're not just talking about the bhramputra but the very Ganga itself! You can't turn anything off lower riparian citizen.

Very little actually works between India and Pakistan - infact the Indus Treaty is one of the few things that does - and India wants to mess with that. Go figure.

Why does it work, why it not been messed up like other things between India and Pakistan?

Because IWT was hugely advantageous to Pakistan from the beginning. So Pakistan had no interest in messing it up.

I am not sure about Sutlej, but Ganga and Brahmaputra most of the water is added in India to the rivers. China actions will have impact mostly it will be BD which will be impacted.

It's from glacial melt flow for the Ganga. I put up loads of links last time round showing this. For the Brahmaputra is partial but still important.

2. North East is still the wettest region on Earth and It is not even the bread basket of India.
