Helicopters and fighter jets are circling above. A slow Shahed isn’t getting thru. Iran needs to invest more in jet powered drones and even supersonic drones as I mentioned several years ago. The field of drone warfare will be changing dramatically in next decade and not in favor of slow propeller drones.

Ironically Russia that was so far behind in the field of drone just a decade ago, has now passed Iran quickly with 4th Gen Geran now on the battlefield.

Iran is very slow to adapt and pivot compared to Russia, China, Ukraine, and even Turkey.

A prop drone is borderline useless against a defended target. The noise (auditory radiation) it makes can also be picked up by military grade sensors placed in the battlefield to give even more advanced warning, which defeats the purpose of its low RCS shape. If you have to fire 25 of them to hit a target with a small 35kg warhead you are better off switching that ratio to just 5 jet powered drones even if the jet powered version is 5x the cost(unlikely)!

Go look at how much the interception rate has dropped since Russia switched to jet based Shaheds versus prop based.

Now wait till laser based air defenses become popular. Than prop Shahed drones can be shot down for Pennies!

Not sure if serious, but to be fair, several missiles did get through to tel Aviv and damage a couple of buildings here and there with a few losses

The reason it’s making news now is Israel’s military censor cleared an Israeli channel to publish this video.

Other angles were available the night it happened but Israeli media could not publish any videos of the incident.
