Its not about ego. They will restock, recalibrate, reposition and come back. There is no reason to believe they are going to stop now if Iran agrees to a ceasefire.

Do you think Iran is going to hold back now? I don't think so. Capability is another matter.

nobody wants the war to drag on, or it will engulf the region and world.
Its sometimes best to re-evaluate and stop on a winning moment, which Iran has won already.
Perhaps de-escalation is good at this point before shit really hits the fan
