Iran couldn’t hit any single critical U.S. military asset to make them change their calculations.

Its not about ego. They will restock, recalibrate, reposition and come back. There is no reason to believe they are going to stop now if Iran agrees to a ceasefire.

In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, external, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that, following the death of Khamenei, a new supreme leader may be selected in "a day or two".

It comes after Tehran announced an interim leadership who Araghchi says "will act as in charge of the leadership before a new leader is elected".

He adds that Iran's strikes are "an act of self-defence and retaliation to the American aggression against us".
