People keep talking about the lack of Muslim unity. What they don’t realize is that for that to happen there would need to be a ruthless civil war within the Islamic world to crush traitors and hypocrites. That would require one group or country to overwhelm the others.

The condition that the Muslim world faces today was almost exactly the same in Salah ad-Din Ayyub’s time. He spent years fighting other Muslims to unite them before defeating the crusaders and liberating Jerusalem.

In today’s world, the question is, who will be the group/country that bangs heads together to unite the Muslim world. Iran seems to meet the qualifications, but unfortunately the sectarian issue prevents Iran from being universally accepted as the leader of the Islamic world. They’re laying the foundation for uniting Muslims, but someone else may need step up to bring it to fruition.

Attacks on israel sure look good, but are very inefficient and do not help Iran strategically, mainly because the GCC countries defend israel and enable israel to easily attack Iran. Taking on US bases in GCC is a very sound first step in actually confronting israel:
  • As per Western media, US bombs are much lighter and less damaging this time, compared to what they could have been, as the planes are now flaying all the way from Cyprus/israel/Jordan and this places severe fuel limitations, which is actually crippling US bombing ability, compared to what was possible with GCC bases.
  • Once GCC bases are taken out, there will be no forward radars tracking missile trajectories, there will be no AD systems shooting missiles down and there will be no long range radar mapping for Jordanian / GCC jets to attack drones on their way to israel. Why fire 100 missiles and 98 of them fail, rather than taking care of the GCC bases and then achieve near 100% effectiveness.
  • Surely with 40 years of sanctions on its back, Iran cannot fight a coalition of around 11 countries on its own, Financial Damages are a very efficient way to hurt the US /Israel where it hurts and make them back out. Any expectation form Iran to fight out US militarily is unfair to begin with.
israel will be a piece of cake for Iran once these US bases are taken care of. Sure we are missing the visuals from TP1, TP2, etc but they did not solve any problems for Iran in the long term. Once this security shell is broken, Iran can really bring the fight to israel.

Iran---even though it had a lots of time at their hands---acted in a lackadaisical manner when it came to equip the air force---.

I beleive that the Drone / missile Mafia in iranian military became dominant---the air force command became weak---treated like a step child from a second wife---while the drone / missile mafia ruled the roost.

I would say that was a very bad policy by the Iranian military for which they would pay heavy penalties---.

Sir, with all due respect. 4th 5th even 5th gen fighter jets would not have helped Iran to change the outcome of this or future conflict. As long as US is the opponent, they will simply strike your airbases first with long range cruise missiles or even their own ballistic missiles to neutralize air threats. Those B-2s are no joke, then their electronic warefare, SEAD is nearly unbeatable (except for China).

Kharg island can't be secured easily. Even if they do somehow took it, Iran can still fire at them daily from the mainland with not just drones, but MLRS too, so casualties would be great forcing them to retreat.

How will they prevent the troops from being struck while on the Island? Sounds insane to me. Wouldn't that cause the Iranians to target oil and gas production in the guf? Desalination, electricity infrastructure? Slippery slope to boots on the ground.

Most probably the case. However you usually don’t have hangers big enough to park big cargo planes. Usually there are 1 or 2 big maintenance hangers that is not hardened
