You guys are throwing about tossing nukes as if this is like a normal thing. I know it was started by western media sources to mentally prepare (non-shock) therapy. Do you understand the amount of suffering for people living there it will cost??

I agree, 'nukes' are used quite casually and not only in the context of this war.
However, in the context of this war, the stakes are so high for both sides that even credible analysts are saying it would not be out of question for Israel to America's 'dirty job' one more time and use its nukes.
I hope it won't come to that!

IF the US could rescue two pilots deep inside Iranian territory like this, I wonder what would stop them from taking Iranian islands next.
This is a test for our defense capabilities and we MUST pass it. If we fail this, it will encourage the Americans to go ahead with their invasion plans.

Honestly if they are staging such a big operation for 2 pilots, it makes ground game less likely. After all, in a ground game you are going to lose soldiers. You are going to have some captured. And you will have the bodies of some photographed. You have to be prepared to accept that.

Doesn’t look like the U.S. is at the point of wanting to accept that. And this incident might give Trump more pause about the feasibility of ground game.

He is likely very angry at this incident because it makes him look bad in front of his idols: Putin, Xi, and Kim. For him this whole war is a flex towards Putin.

I'm headed to get some shut eye now but might write something more detailed when I wake up but in short, I don't think the IRGC should have the strategy to prevent landings or incursions, rather to punish when they do occur

You wouldn't then being doing your job as an IRGC guy.. That AC130 should be shot down - period, by flying so low.
