The myth of US Air Force invincibility was developed and placed into the narrative for decades. Mainly because the US flew missions in uncontested airspace.

Let’s not forget that tiny Serbia shot down US jets in 1999, using older Yugoslav AD systems.

Shooting down an A10 is easy, they are loud and slow, same with those helicopters and C-130s.

Important point is that with fast jets, the hits were most probably from mobile MRSAM potentially with IR guidance to avoid being targets of ARMs.

Iran needs to build up a large force of these mobile “shoot and scoot” MRSAM systems when the war is over. They probably already started the process before the war started.

some corrections:

US did not admit A-10 was hit by Iran, just that it crashed near the Strait of Hormuz

No evidence the F-16 was hit by Iran. in fact, it issued its emergency signal on the Iraq/KSA border, far from Iran.

good enough if its out of commission and operationally out of service.

nothing will change that fact whether it was a bird hit or friendly fire or technical fault.
