A senior United Arab Emirates official said on Friday that Tehran could not be trusted over any unilateral arrangements it makes for the Strait of Hormuz, in a sign of deep mistrust on all sides as efforts to end the US-Israeli war on Iran remained at an impasse.

Two months into the conflict, the vital sea channel is still largely ‌closed because of an Iranian blockade and the US Navy is blocking exports of Iranian crude oil. The blockade has choked off 20% of the world's oil and gas supplies, pushing up global energy prices and increasing concerns that there will be an economic downturn.

A ceasefire has been in place since April 8 but reports that US President Donald Trump was to be briefed on plans for new military strikes to compel Iran to negotiate pushed global oil prices up to a four-year high at one point on Thursday.

Iran has activated air defences and plans a wide response if attacked, having assessed that there will be a short, intensive US strike, possibly followed by an Israeli attack, two senior Iranian sources told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

This is the exact same thing I said after the June war with Israel. Everybody was talking about how the war had strengthened the Islamic Republic.

I told them we had only 3-6 months to make fundamental changes or the worst protests we had seen will hit the country. And it did happen in January, didn't it?

As soon as this war with the US seems over, huge protests, even bigger than January protests, will erupt with truly epic fury. The people are showing so much patriotism to stay united for the time being.

People have been cut off the internet for 64 days and counting. How do they expect people to earn money when the internet has been completely disconnected by the regime? Nearly every major IT company or startup is laying off people. Many traders have lost their capital and savings. Small businesses who used instagram for selling and advertising their products have sold nearly nothing since the war. We are talking about millions of people getting unemployed while prices are soaring and have doubled since the beginning of the war. And if it is all for security purposes, why are they talking about Pro Internet for some people? This is some North Korea level of communist shit.

Iranians have to fight against the US/Israel and the Mullah regime at the same time.
