Who is going to be held responsible for this in Iran?
Meanwhile, USD has appreciated by about 20% since the signing of the MoU.

This is just a stunt. I remember the "Terror Free Gas" station from the Dubya days. That gas station later went out of business. Americans have been deeply pinched by rising gas prices, some estimates are hundreds of extra dollars per month per household spent on gas because of this moronic war.

Stunt or not, this is not good for Iran. Iran doesn't have that many levers to influence the decision makers in the US and high gas prices is the most important one, if not the only one.

Gas prices have remained high since the conflict started, despite the recent decrease in the price of a barrel of oil because what you find at the gas pump is what was bought and processed months ago. Trump isn't out of the woods on this at all.

Well, Google says that regular gas price has fallen from $6.15 per gallon in May to $5.35 as of now in California, but good to hear that. It is important for Iran to keep gas prices high as it is our most important lever to end the war.

Below article is good to understand what exactly is Iran doing here. The objectives at the moment are to force ships to use the Iranian routes in the SoH , instead of the Omani route, and also to jack up the price of oil. The larger objective is to think and act like a guerilla , not a conventional military, and to eventually win by exhausting the US.

Same strategy as the VietCong and the Taliban.

Surely the iranians arent as dumb as we think right, theyre gonna hit back after aghas funeral right, right ? 😔

I hope Iran has been churning out and amassing a great number of missiles and drones. It will need them in the coming days and probably weeks.

Sitting idle now won't do good. The muted response thus far means that Iran is playing the wait game.

The reformists negotiated away a clear military victory. Fighting back seems pointless when Pezeshkian will apologize and Qalibaf give away the gains. And Mojtaba write a letter blaming others.

Now the IRGC is suddenly too timid to strike UAE, Qatar, Saudi or Jordan. Not to mention Oman with their corridor. Maybe the reformist cabinet and corrupt qalibaf convinced the IRGC to stand down.

This is what attrition looks like.
