First, Iran has suffered a lot economically in 4 dacades due to sanctions imposed on it because of its nuclear program but didn't make the bomb. Now it will bring destruction to itself for asking tolls in Strait of Hormuz which no one will agree.
Yes, USA and Israel are bad but Iran is not saint either and it is being irrational again and again.

Irán has no Air force or Navy to answer toe to toe to US forces.
Their strategy rely on capability of hitting targets beyond the Horizon. But they can't stop fighters and bombers.
Islamic Republic must answer without having fighters or drones over them.
But that not means Irán is not answering.

I reckon Israel is more likely to assassinate Trump to implicate Iran for this reprisal attacks as that serves its interests, than Iran will who lack the capability to do so.

It may well all depend on when the direct control and usefulness of Trump runs out?

There is a cat and mouse game going on where the USA wants to be able to get enough oil out, into reserves so that it can build a buffer for another attack on Iran, and Iran is slowing the tap so that it cannot take place. The large strikes by the USA are a sign of its frustration that its objectives in this regard, are not being achieved I reckon.
