The Intel Fabs in Israel are worth many tens of billions of dollars as one example ? Right ?
The economic value of the loss will hurt, but the loss of manufacturing capabilities will also hurt supply line and manufacturing in the USA that is dependent on those chips. If the Americans are happy to go after economic targets in Iran like oil, and oil shipments, then why not reply in kind also ?
Excellent choice of target: costly to replace, and disruptive to an entire sector of the economy.
However, anyone contemplating any such decisive action would be wise to plan out what the side side would do in response, wouldn't you agree?
Let us assume that your selected target is taken out by Iranian missiles, perhaps as a pre-emptive strike. What do you think the next steps in response could be?
