If Iranian oil infrastructure is targeted then that is fair game. Trumpy might go for that he wants to topple the Iranian government, if they cant export oil its pretty much game over.

Problem in attacking Iran: it is a large country with many dispersed military assets and the intelligence available about Iran's lethal response must not be the same as it was barely a year ago because Iran has removed a lot of spies. Iran is capable of destroying much of the region and maybe even Israel and that is almost certainly why Iran is not attacked like Iraq was attacked in 2003.

I thought in the 12 day war, most of the attacks were launched from outside of Iranian airspace, no? But even when the jets are inside Iranian airspace there must be some air defense system in place and also must be some missiles which would make to Israel, like happened in the 12 day war. And that's before we factor Iran choking off the trade in Persian Gulf.
I don't think Iran is such a sitting duck!

I understand Russia is in a bind with Ukraine, but a good way to pay back the US is to transfer some high quality assets, maybe S400/S300 anti shipping missiles, Iskanders?

Its always been hard to read Russia, they are facing the hardest sanctions ever and here is a chance to really weaken your opponents and bog them down, provide an opening and distraction to finish their Ukrainian objectives.

Yes, hard to read Russia. They have been bleeding a lot because of NATO support to Ukraine but if they let go of a golden opportunity like supplying Iran with military hardware--an opportunity which would be a powerful bargaining chip on Ukraine--then I would be very surprised.

I dont think they have decent AD, their missiles however are something else.

I believe ALBMs were launched from Iraq and over Caspian through Azerbaijan. Drones were also launched from there. They took out the AD network and entered Iranian airspace.

But Iran was still raining missiles on Tel Aviv despite all that. Isn't Iran still capable of those attacks on Israel? It must be otherwise the war which has been postponed for nearly half a century would have happened.

Not after they destroyed most of the TELs and bombed the entrances to the missile bases. It would be a serious game-changer if Iran could protect the missile bases and launch sites.

Both. We have laws that punish possession of starlink.

I have read elsewhere that Iran changed tactics and was able to get "more bang for the buck" with those smaller salvos. That change of tactics also covered up the loss of half of TEL's. will try and find the article.
